Kid will be a terrific pro prospect. Olympic judging remains really bad. Had him winning every round. He is the only one to land any punches in the fight. The Uzbek ran and danced all three rounds throwing out punches to the air. Olympic coverage for boxing has been slim feel like they are pushing our sport out but they still love pushing Ali in Olympic commercials. Sad as I am sure there are some really good fighters there. Also wondering why they dropped the middleweight class in men’s. Of course the only press boxing has gotten is the XY Chromosomes.

good fighter for sure
as usual people moan about robberies in amateur boxing when a close decision doesnt go to the guy they want to win. you gotta f@cking blow a guy out to not get people complaining about the decision

You are right! Didn’t say robbery but didn’t see any punches landed by Uzbek. Even slo mo’ed it after the fact. Omari’s right hand landed over and over. Although he spit out his mouthpiece twice which doesn’t look great. But you can’t say the Olympics hasn’t been full of controversial decisions…. See Roy Jones destroy the Korean kid and somehow lose. Sad to see OUR sport pushed away

“I chose Eddie because he came to meet with me in Paris after my last fight in the Olympics and I understood how serious he was about my making a superstar and global star,” Jones explained about his choice. “I also want to stay busy, and I feel that Matchroom and Eddie Hearn is the perfect fit for that.”
“My goals in the professional game in 2025 is to stay active, and win. Long term, I would like to become world champion, be mentioned amongst the greats and fight the best of the best.”
“I am delighted to have won the race to sign Omari,” said Hearn. “Omari caught my eye when I saw him fight at the Olympics – the star potential was there for all to see, and I am honored that he has chosen Matchroom and DAZN to guide him in the pros. The medal in Paris was the culmination of an outstanding amateur career, and I have no doubt that he is going to transfer that success into a glittering career in the paid ranks.
“Omari has all the ingredients to become a household name in America; he has bags of skills, a great style, real work ethic, an infectious personality and the drive to help young people and his community. We’re excited to get the journey started and news will come tomorrow of that first step.”

What’s the deal with his weight? Comming in at 149lb… (is he cutting to that or what?)
Says he wants to be a 154er why would he cut to 149
If he isn’t cutting to 149 and that’s just his weight then he should be aiming at 140 or 135…
