Tomas Adamek vs Krzysztof Wlodarczyk prime for prime.

First off.......why did this fight never happen?

If it had happened who wins?

good fight, i think at cruiser adamek had the right mix of abilities to beat most other cruiser title holders. he could box and move a bit, could come forward as an aggresor, had some pop. good size. wlod a tough guy but a more basic walk you down guy, with a touch of the roboticness i sometimes notice in polish fighters.

id like adamek to drop a tough wlod and end up winning a decision like 116-111

Adamek was better at winning rounds. He had a good workrate.

Wlodarczyk had a tendency of fighting in spurts. He liked to study his foe a bit too much and often, in some of his fights, he'd be too content with landing that short left hook, that helped him score stoppages over Chahkiev, Green and Fragomeni.

That said, Wlod was trailing on points against Chahkiev and Green. With Green, he was 1.5 round away from surrendering his belt. In the Drozd fight, he failed to find that KO punch and lost widely on points.

I think, Adamek would've outworked him to a decision win.

One positive thing for Wlod here is that he liked guys coming at him. Adamek, who likes to initiate the action and who didn't have the greatest defense, would've provided Wlodarczyk with some opportunities.

But Adamek could've been smart, when needed to. I don't think he'd just be running into Wlod shots. He could've tried to make Wlodarczyk come at him, meet him with flurries and then turn him around. Then, repeat it again. Adamek had a good enough footwork for these tactics, too.
