I hope not. Hate to see him go on too long. It's damaged the legacy of the likes of AJ and Del Boy.

I suspect he will maybe try to recyle the Joshua fight.

The fight v AJ will still be there, be less than half the money than if both were winners, still huge money.

If Fury gets beat up a bit v Usyk, it will be winnable for both

Hearn and Warren promoting the blockbuster stadium fight we all wanted in 2025:

Anthony Joshua 35 y.o. (28-4) vs Tyson Fury 36 y.o. (34-2)

No belts on the line, just bragging rights.

It think Usyk will retire after he wins the rematch.

It would be understandable. He will be 38. He's been the first undisputed heavyweight since Lewis and beat the top guys since he arrived in the division. Parker, Zhang, Kabayel and Bakole are the next contenders in line (or a unification rematch with Dubois) but none of these are exciting for Usyk and are not needle movers in the same way that Joshua and Fury are. If the aforementioned contenders would fight each other and produce two defences for Usyk then he could realistically clean out the division by this time next year and that might be appealing. We would need Turki to get that though.

As long as Turki’s around, he’ll carry on for a while.

Milk the fights.

Tbh, the ONLY fights I want Fury in are against AJ, Dubois and maybe Zhang.

As for Usyk: after a rematch win over Fury a Dubois rematch is a natural at a stadium in England. The low blow controversy will be used to market it and Usyk makes a fortune and beats Dubois again.

Absolutely.

As long as the Riyadh Season is still a thing, he will fight.

Fury is charismatic and win, lose or draw, he can fight.

He draws the crowds and that equals money, so they'll probably try and repackage a fight against Joshua, or he might fancy a 4th fight with Chisora, because 3 one sided victories over Dereck might not be enough for him.

Naz did it perfectly. He built the hype beating the lower opposition, and when stepping up and getting found out he quickly retired leaving a legacy that has only gained further hype.

If Fury and Wilder had both retired after their 3rd fight I have little doubt both would be in the top 5 .. if not higher for Fury, of the ATG lists.

However Wilder has been brutally exposed and won't make the top 30 ATG lists, And Fury at this stage at best scrapes into that top 30 list.

Naz retired on a win.

The European champ, top of the bill, in an arena, I think on ppv over a year after his Barerra loss.

Naz beat the WBO champion, the IBF champion and the WBC champion. The WBA champion was then stripped of his title for fighting Naz preventing him from becoming only the second boxer to hold all 4 belts.
His only loss came 3 years after this when he was hopelessly unprepared.

Naz couldn't fight, Fury and AJ neither.

In fact Uysk only really has Fury and AJ on his record, and maybe DDD(who got whacked by Joyce), goes to show that Uysk can't fight either, just dining off beating other fighters who can't fight.

Surely fury vs AJ is still big even if meaningless. But that’s the only fight for him if he loses.

Yep. Nowhere near the elite opposition of the guys operating at the top back then.
As demonstrated by Pugilist Specialists post .. the Naz hype just got bigger still after his retirement.
Naz timed it well - Fury at this stage regardless of the Usyk rematch left it too late.

Hardly quickly retiring, ist it? I presume you simply didn't know he'd had another bout. No worries, enjoy your day.

Don't think I ever watched the final Naz fight, and can't even remember watching any highlights tbh. Just remember it was universally slammed as a very dull performance.

I think Fury learnt enough about Usyk and himself to be able to make the adjustments (no clowning or mugging for the crowd on the ropes) to turn this into a trilogy. That right uppercut to body or chin will get whipped in a lot more this time and, if he can keep his serious head and concentration, avoid anything like that 9th round which turned the fight in Usyk's favour.

Tyson looked more out of shape on Saturday than I've seen him for a long time.
