saw this vid of jalolov and clarke sparring, jalo drops him and goes after him like it's a real fight
there is also a ref and a crowd, not just of other people who train there watching on, but outside onlookers cheering for jalolov. the ref waives it off after a bit.
i know there's hard sparring, but is simulating an actual fight like this something that's often done or becoming more common? seen this in the usa as well with the mayweather gym, but not sure if it's happening in uk as well
do you think this type of set up is good to approximate fight conditions better?

Different international squads can be at the same training camps at the same time. In the UK it's become much more common, at least in my region, for a gym to host sparring days where several different amateur clubs will meet in one gym. There will be bout like conditions and people watching.

Agree, in amateur boxing it's pretty common to have sparring days where you try to replicate the competition as much as possible, often with a ref/coach inside the ring. Unless it's very onesided, they will go all out. If it's too onesided they will either stop it (like in the video) or ask the superior boxer to take it easy.
Nowadays many national teams prepare together in international camps where they schedule these types of comp-sparring sessions. The video is probably from a training camp in Uzbekistan.

When I was fighting it was often the case to go to other gyms for sparring, as there weren't that many fighters around.
They was rivalry between the managers too so we were told to go hard.
These spars were definitely harder than many fights.
I remember once I was booked for six rounds, it was the end of August so neither of us were that fit after the summer off.
We just had a look at each other first round, I think we were both content not to have expended much energy.
I then received a slap on returning to the corner, my manager telling me not not waste his time and petrol on him bringing me down there.
I then went for it the next 3 rounds, bashed the fella up a bit and after the 4th his manager pulled him out.
My manager was then giving it a bit saying we went down there for 6 rounds!!!
He was so pleased with me when we were driving back.

When I was a kid, at my amateur gym when another clubs boxers came over to spar, it was basically a series of bouts.
Very competitive, everyone watching and both boxers really going for it. That was 23 years ago now...

Jalalov appears to be the real deal. I hope he gets moved along quickly now that the Olympics are over
