Docherty v Arthur Clash In Doubt Over Dates Dispute
It looks like it is going to be one of those years for Scottish boxing.

We've already seen Steve Foster Jr pull out of a mouth watering British title eliminator against John Simpson to fight for the WBU Featherweight crown. Charlie Shepherd never crossed the border to test Gary Young. And lack of money on the table and the flu meant that Willie Limond didn't face the now dethroned WBU Super Featherweight champion, Michael Gomez.

And now the politics of boxing are threatening to pull the plug on the biggest fight between two Scottish boxers since Ken Buchanan beat Jim Watt back in 1973.

This is class...keep em coming. I reckon we can get a dozen at least and we aren't even in the fight week yet!

JEEZ I GET THE FEELING THIS MIGHT IRRIATATE SOME BY FIGHT NIGHT!

It has to be said that the use of cliche in boxing journalism (myself included) is rife.

About this fight. I haven't saw Arthur and Dochery fights, but just by looking at records, Arthur seems will win easy. Is this true?

I think Arthur has the edge in power which might make the difference.

Gary young vs Brett james in support bout, guess this is a step up for him, how you think he handles it??

Very interesting match, I would have thought that Young's power will bring him through.

I'm slightly suprised that they have stepped him up before Doherty. It's a shame that Young and Doherty have the same promoter, because I'm sure that there is a cracking British title match to be made between them in the future. They are both 21, Young is 12-0(7) and Doherty13-0(7) having fought against alot of the same opponents. 8)

Gary was a really good amature up here in scotland,, so we all know what he can do, also sells a lot of tickets to mans in edinburgh and they want him to step up and so does he,

so this fight shud be good for him i guess to c how hes gonna get on, if he aint dealing with guys like this then what future does he have, so hopefully stopage for gary,
