Will Anthony Joshua be voted into the IBHOF?

by Perkin Warbeck
Anthony Joshua's career is winding down now, with only a few fights left. He is past his prime, as we saw in the fight with Dubois.
Do you think they will vote Joshua into the IBHOF?
I think he should get in, because he was a unified champion, and he's never avoided anybody up until now.
What do you think? Is it too early to consider this, because he may return with another winning streak?

If he retired right now he's got to wait ten years before he would ever be remotely inducted. That's the rules. And yes he's a 2x heavyweight champion he'd be in the IBHOF at some point. Then again is Tim Witherspoon in the IBHOF yet? He was 2x heavyweight champion too. I reckon it don't matter for the reason you said, Joshua was a unified (multiple belt) champion and sold out stadiums.
Jesus Christ Almighty God bless you all

He was one of the biggest names in boxing for 5+ years, 2x champion, 3 unified belts. He would be a difficult one to ignore.

I voted no but meant yes. Heavyweight alphabet belts/title fights are considered more important than at any other weight by voters so he should get in. Wilder is likely the exception since he fought B-level opposition for most of his time as a belt-holder

He will be inducted. He has a win over Wladimir Klitschko and I know Wladimir was past his prime. He has two losses by decision to Usyk, but the second fight was closer and he lost by split decision. Of course, Usyk and Tyson Fury will be inducted. I don't think Deontay Wilder will be inducted.

Joshua will be a first ballot hall of famer.
Fury will enter the Hall
Usyk for sure for unifying 2 divisions
And I bet Wilder will eventually be inducted. Deservedly so or not

i wonder how many more times joshua and wilder will be ko'd
joshua at least has a fairly deep list of legit contenders and champs he beat, wilder's top 3 has stiverne and brezeale

I hope Wilder calls it a career.
Joshua will be knocked out a couple of more times before retiring

i wonder if they could still sell a fight with each other, at least one of them wouldnt get ko'd and would add a name to their win column, even if lost luster

I think Joshua sneaks in at some point. If a guy like Gatti (who I enjoyed watching) gets in Joshua should make it also. If he ends up fighting Fury and getting the nod that would be the icing on the cake.

Why wouldn't an Olympic gold medallist, unified HW champion and two time HW champion who carried the sport in his home country for the best part of a decade not be inducted into the HOF?

Why would you be an idiot to want to see Wilder vs Joshua still? That's a guaranteed interesting fight where somebody is almost certainly getting KO'd. What's not to like?

I agree. I still want to see Joshua-Wilder.
Of course it should have happened years ago, but I think most boxing fans would still watch it if it happens in 2025.

Wilder has zero punch resistance now and has lost 5 out of his last 5 fights.
His commercial appeal has dropped. Joshua would be a huge favorite in this fight

How can you say he has zero punch resistance?
His last 4 years has been 11 rounds with fury, a win, 12 with Parker, and then he got knocked by Zhang who could KO a bull if he hit it clean…
Wilder is likely shot to bits, and was probably always a bit shit, but there’s no real evidence his chin has gotten any worse.

People more deserving in the IBHOF - but got to say if Froch is in, then AJ is as worthy/deserving. Perhaps not on a pure boxing skills, but his achievements are close to being on a par with Froch and his putting boxing on a map is above Froch's considerably.
I do wish though the international boxing hall of fame will consider more than just the UK and the USA / Canada / South America. Just because you might not have been shown on Showtime/HBO or filled MSG doesn't mean you have not done an awful lot for your own country in the sport.
