From the Western Telegraph in Pembroke:

"Gammer a step closer to British title bout
A PEMBROKE Dock boxer may be moving a step closer to the big-time as he prepares to fight for a British title bout.

Four-time Welsh Amateur Boxing Association champion, Scott `The Hammer' Gammer, 28, of 31 Dorset Row, Llanion, Pembroke Dock, will be going head to head with a fellow contender in a heavyweight eliminator on May 15th.

If successful in the eliminators the hard-hitting labourer will land a chance to fight for the British title.

The father-of-two said: "This has always been my dream, I've always been a boxer and I want to take it as far as I can."

Undefeated in his 13 bouts since turning pro three years ago, the former schoolboy champ has been boxing since the age of nine under the tutelage of trainer and father Ralph Gammer.

"There is no doubt Scott has the ability to go all the way, there is no two ways about that," he said.

Scott's first eliminator bout will be against Sheffield's Mark Rench in the northern town although the venue has yet to be confirmed."

Very funny that they have printed the bloke's whole address which is certainly inadvisable. 'Mark Rench' is class! Plus, Krence is from Chesterfield. Sweet... :D

If it comes down to heart and desire then Gammer will win this at a canter. Krence lacks those vital ingredients.

I like Krence but I agree. McDermott should have beaten him. I like the cut of Gammer's jib. Looks like he can bang. And his accent is fantastic in post-fight interviews, without being patronising.

I can see power of punch being more of drawback for Krence. Gammer certainly doesn't lack a dig at this level.

Why on earth have they printed his whole address. That's fornicating lunacy, and I'm sure it's not legal either to print someone's address without their consent. Unless Gammer asked them to print it in the hope he'd get loads of young totty turning up for a whack of the mighty mallet.
