Matchroom announces six shows in early 2025

A January 31st NXTGEN show in London features George Liddard (8-0, 5 KO) against Derrick Osaze (13-2, 3 KO) and Junaid Bostan (10-0, 8 KO) vs Bilal Fawaz (9-1, 3 KO).

Later this month

Don’t know if any other opponents have been confirmed.

A lot of talent on the card, just hope they're not all gross mismatches and a wee upset wouldn't go amiss, I like Liddard, good fighter

Derrick Osaze
“First, I just want to say thank you for the opportunity to be here,” said Osaze. “Thankful to God. Obviously faith is a big, important foundation in my life and He sustained me throughout my career up to this point. What I know about George [Liddard]…he’s a good fighter. You not going to be sitting in this seat topping a Matchroom bill if you’re not a good fighter. So in terms of that, of course [he’s a good fighter. In terms of the fight, well, Eddie [Hearn] is right when he says it’s a tough test. If you know me, I’m not really into all this talking. I like to do my talking on Friday. But it should be a very good fight.”

“I’m extremely grateful to God as well for the opportunity,” said Liddard. “Grateful to Matchroom. You know I boxed on loads of your shows and now to headline one, very, very grateful. I’m excited. The hard work’s done. This is the fun part for me now. I’m just looking forward to fight. This is what I do. I never shy away from a test. Like you say, Derrick [Osaze] is a good test. I’m ready to pass it. That is what it is. If you look at my record, I’ve never shied away from anyone. I’ll fight any man. I’m a fighting man. That’s what I do.”

He really does look good. Glad the fight got stopped though the Mexican gent had taken lots of punishment. Visioli and Tibbs very respectful to the opponent as well always nice to see.

Yeah, must be a bloody tough living that. I wonder if the money he earns equates to a good living in Mexico. Some of those punches looked really painful and it must require a strong mind to go in the ring knowing you are basically going to get beat up and at best you evade most and make it through.

Sains is very heavy handed fair play to the Frenchman at the end he could have easily wilted at the end. This won’t last long though
