Forgot about Crocker vs Walker so I've added it that was one of the best for sure. (the few votes so far have been reset cause of the add)

AJ was only competitive for a comparative flicker, so Wardley and Clarke's back and forth classic gets my vote.

AJ and Fury would be contenders in British Upset of the Year.

clarke-wardley was such a grueeling back and forth battle i didnt even want an immediate rematch because i was worried theyd ruin each other. and f@ck me it kinda did happen with a dent in the head. lets see how clarke comes back. a contender for world fight of the year too

Huge British fight, heavies too, both went for it, explosive stuff, but too one sided for me to get the top spot.
Hearns v Hagler, the most famous and best short fight ever was very competitive.

I mean Joshua was always in with a chance and staggered DDD right before the ending. I thought he was gonna turn it around. Also there is excitement in a big fight upset. It was definitely an exciting fight and one of the highlights for me of the year.

Clarke Wardley 1 for me

Not been vintage for domestic fights. Wardley v clarke by some margin.

Laws v mckenna was a fun fight while it lasted.

This doesn't look close...

hearns vs hagler is the most famous but defo wasnt the best short fight ever. i encourage you to rewatch it. hearns legs go to rubber after about 90 seconds and he takes a beating after that. no back and forth knockdowns or big momentum shifts. no oh shit out of nowhere moment. no dramatic comeback. hagler barely even budges while hearns flops around. how can that possibly be the best short fight ever?

compare that to sam ahmad vs elvir muriqi - 7 kds in 3 rounds (split 4-3), huge momentum shifts. you have a guy get dropped and then score a huge knockdown of his own with literally the next punch after the action resumes. the guy who was getting the worst of it eventually gets on top, etc.



another is carrasquilla vs hwang. the korean is dropped 4 times in round 2, shows incredible heart and miracously comes back to score a ko in round 3



then theres ezra sellers vs carl the cat, etc

hagler-hearns was a very good fight but its become so mythicized that its now incredibly overrated

Agree with Bigdogsnose that McKenna v Laws was a wild sluggest for three rounds

mckenna-laws, another short fight with more ups and downs than hagler-hearns

Maybe I'm a bit bias over the Hagler fight, it's one of the things that got me into boxing, and of course it was a huge fight.

I was trying to make the point that AJ was never in control of the fight, so because there was no momentum change, it wasn't as good a fight as Wardley v Clarke.

Hagler v Hearns was one of the first fights where I was subjected to bull sh1t excuses. Manny steward was obviously one of the best but using Hearns having a massage the night before the fight as the reason his legs went in the fight, I mean christ that’s the Everest of optimism expecting people to fall for that.
