I think Cooney knocks him out. Too big, too strong. Would be a fun fight while it lasted, but Cooney is too strong for Patterson.

Yeah, it's tough to pick Patty here. The guy was explosive and hard-hitting, but he was too hitable himself and too chinny. He was dropped so many times by quite mediocre guys, so it's easy to see, how the giant and strong power puncher Gerry jumps on the tiny Floyd and batters him, like he did with Norton and Lyle. Yes, Cooney was destroyed by the skinny lil' Spinks, but the Jinx was much more agile and sharper than Patty, unorthodox and hard to hit.

Patterson at his best and older like Lyle and Norton would get blown away by Cooney's powerful left hooks like both of young Patterson's fights with Sonny Liston.
