Joe has said he is fighting on - what do people think he will or should do next? I know he has a comeback fight on Boxrec

If he comes through this, the article says he will fight Wardley - which sounds very dangerous. I like Joe and it all feels a bit sad, reminds me of Price, Olympic medallist, losses to same person twice and never the same again, and coming back to be 6th on the card on a lesser bill.

Do you think he made 'forever' money and just wants to fight on, believes he can still get to the top, or something else?

He turns 40 in less than 8 months..

I've no idea what Joe's financial situation is but I do know that there's a big difference between forever money in London and most other places. Joe is a London boy and he'd be bored to tears living where I do, for example, even if he did know he'd be well sorted for life money wise.

I think he should target one more big fight if he wants.

He really needs to step back again. He's never going to get back into the title picture so rather than a heavy-hitting, young top 15 heavyweight in Wardley, he should be looking at veterans and maybe crush some can crushers. A couple of these a year won't earn him huge money but he can get some wins and save some braincells. I'd pick Pulev, Ruiz, Sirenko, Hysa, Hughie, Yoka, Pero, Yallyev, Dychko, Kadiru and other guys of this ilk

That's if he's going to fight on that is. I think he is probably better off retiring for his health.

It's a difficult one as it's easy for us to say retire but unless you are absolutely minted most people can't afford to retire in their 30s or 40s. I'm one of those who think Joyce should retire for the good of his health but he also needs money to live. I have no idea how much he's made but as we know once tax, fees, training expenses, managers cut etc come out fighters aren't left with as much as you think. That's also assuming he's been sensible with it too, lots of people aren't. So I get the allure of carrying on, especially with the Saudi money that's around.

I'm not sure Joe gets a big money Saudi fight now, unless they put him in with Moses Itauma

Thing is I said on here maybe 2 years ago del boy shud retire - yet he just battered JJ !

The guy he's fighting next is woeful - far worse than his debut opponent, which is a rare achievement 20 fights in.

I'm guessing his confidence is low, which is understandable, but knocking this guy out in 30 seconds will prove nothing.

I don't want to see him against Wardley though, anyone involved in that should be sent to The Hague.

Cheers Jimmy valid point re London vs other UK places in terms of cost. I live in Lincolnshire and my house is quite nice and big, but I know I could not afford half of a wheelie bin in London

He shouldn't have had a second go at Zhang. That clearly took a hell of a lot out of him and there was clearly a gulf between them.

Joe is still a top fighter. He can build himself up to another big pay day. If he still has the belief and is injury-free I can imagine there are many in the top 10 he can still defeat.

I guess the engine might not be there in the same way. But I would make him favourite against Parker, Dubois, Wardley.

I'd like to see him in with Joshua.
