To gain his IBF junior middleweight title shot, Erickson Lubin will be afforded the luxury of fighting in front of his hometown crowd.
ProBox TV CEO Garry Jonas told Boxing Scene on Wednesday that after winning the $225,000 purse bid for Lubin’s date with Michigan’s Ardreal Holmes, he has secured a May 10 date at Silver Spurs Arena in Kissimmee, Florida – Lubin’s hometown.
The bout agreement is signed, said Jonas, who also owns BS.
The winner becomes mandatory contender to IBF titleholder Bakhram Murtazaliev.
Former title challenger Lubin, 26-2 (18 KOs), will return from a pair of 2023 victories over Luis Arias and Jesus Ramos, which followed his 2022 stoppage loss to unified 154-pound champion Sebastian Fundora.
In 2017, Lubin fought for the WBC 154lbs belt and was knocked out in the first round by eventual undisputed champion Jermell Charlo.
A southpaw – like Lubin – Holmes, 17-0 (6 KOs), has been more active than Lubin, winning three fights in Michigan in 2024, most recently claiming a 10-round unanimous decision over Edwine Humaine Jnr on December 12.
Murtazaliev recently told Boxing Scene he is back in the gym following his October title defense, a knockout of former titleholder Tim Tszyu.
Jonas said the May 10 card will feature some of the best active fighters ever raised near Orlando, including co-main event participant Darrelle Valsaint, a 22-year-old middleweight off to a 12-0 start with 10 knockouts, along with Atlanta’s light heavyweight Najee Lopez, 13-0 (10 KOs).

Erickson Lubin and Ardreal Holmes Jr will battle it out for a super welterweight title shot in two short months
After claiming victory in a January purse bid, ProBox TV announced today that the IBF super welterweight eliminator between Erickson Lubin and Ardreal Holmes Jr will headline a May 10th show in Kissimmee, Florida. The winner will be in line to challenge Bakhram Murtazaliev, who stopped Jack Culcay for the belt last year before smashing Tim Tszyu in his inaugural defense.
It’s a bit unfortunate that ProBox abandoned its usual Wednesday haunt, as they’ll have to go head-to-head with Emanuel Navarrete vs Charly Suarez on ESPN that evening.
This marks the first major test for Holmes (17-0, 6 KO) a physical specimen and longtime ShoBox veteran, but he’s catching Lubin (26-2, 18 KO) at an advantageous time. “Bossman” has racked up three wins since Lubin eked out a hugely controversial decision over Jesus Ramos; by the time he enters the ring, he’ll have been out for over 19 months.
The show also features undefeated light heavyweight Najee Lopez (13-0, 10 KO) and Tokyo Olympian Darrelle Valsaint (12-0, 10 KO)

ProBox TV, 6:30 pm ET, Erickson Lubin vs Ardreal Holmes. From the Silver Spurs Arena in Kissimmee, Florida.
Nice little matchup here, but ProBox once again runs head-to-head with a major promotion event. And, as I’ve done so often since they abandoned their Wednesday night showcases, I’ll be spending the middle of my week sitting quietly in the living room while my wife watches an episode of “Hacks” or “Call the Midwife.” I miss you, ProBox Wednesdays. And I miss the likes of Nicklaus Flaz, Darrelle Valsaint, Najee Lopez, and Dominic Valle, all of whom gave good Wednesday night fights, and all of whom are listed in support on this card.

Looked a composed performance from Lubin, broke Holmes down and got him out of there in the 11th, been pottering about the house so wasn't totally invested but he looked the boss, never let Holmes off the hook after the knockdown

sounds like a good win for lubin, helps solidify him more as being above the 2nd/3rd rungers. hes one of the better fighters around not to win a world title in recent years
