Glory 99: Last Heavyweight Standing
April 5, 2025 (Rotterdam, Netherlands)
If you have any interest in this card I suggest you seek it out, and enjoy it spoiler free without reading further ahead as it is an amazingly entertaining Combat Sports card.
The Opening Round of a 32 Man Tournament. This is the qualifying round to advance to Glory 100 where there will be 4 separate, 4 man tournaments in 1 night in different groups. A Heavyweight Super Tournament.
Bout 1: Luigj Gashi vs Petr Romankevich
Gashi deals noitceable damage to Romankevich's legs early in the fight, and has him limping early on in the bout. Romankevich goes down from a leg kick in the 2nd round, but amazingly guts it out through the 3rd round, aided by the fact that Gashi got a little gassed out. A strong punching attack from Romankevich sees him take the 3rd round, but it's too little, too late, and he loses the Unanimous decision on all 5 judges scorecards.
Luigj Gashi draws Spot #10 for the next round of the Tournament at Glory 100 and will be in Group C
Bout 2: Nathan Cook vs Anis Bouzid
They mentioned that Bouzid had recently gone 3-0 as a boxer before returning to Kickboxing, and that Boxing experience showed within seconds as he slips a straight right from Cook, and counters him with a combination of hooks knocking him down heavily, and forcing a stoppage from the referee within about 15 seconds of the 1st round. It's reported that Nathan Cook's father had died the day before this fight, so that's a particularly bad couple of days for this poor guy, but what can you do? Bouzid gets the win and advances.
Bouzid draws spot #16 for the next round of the Tournament at Glory 100 and will be in Group D

Bout 3: Colin George vs Miroslav Vujovic
Colin George a behemoth at 6'9 making Vujovic who is 6'6 himself look small in the opening round. Vujovic spends the whole fight basically in retreat, and clearly intimidated by the big man. George continues throwing heavy body kicks at Vujovic, and it looks like at he broke Vujovic's arm with one of those blocked body kicks. Vujovic clearly in pain signals to the referee he cannot continue, and his arm looks broken or at bare minimum a muscle tear. At any rate, he can't continue due to arm injury.
George draws spot #1 in the next round of the Tournament at Glory 100 and will be in Group A.
Bout 4: Nidal Bchiri vs Asdren Gashi
Gashi takes the 1st round pretty clearly with a lot of leg kicks, and mid range kicks. Bchiri stalking at a slow pace begins to slow down Gashi a bit in the 2nd round, and seems to have him slightly stunned with a few of his punches. 2nd round could've went either way, but I'd have given it to Bchiri. 3rd round is similarly close, but in the opening score Gashi was ahead 2-0 on 3 of the 5 judges cards so he's going to be the winner here by UD.
Asdren Gashi draws spot #8 in the next round of the Tournament at Glory 100 and will be in Group B.
Bout 5: Yuri Farcas vs Iraj Azizpour
A battle of 2 big powerfully built guys. 1st round is all action between these 2 guys, Farcas takes a low blow and takes a while to recover. In the 2nd round Azizpour lands 2 big spinning back fists that finish off Farcas, giving the win by KO in the 2nd round to Iraj Azizpour.
Azizpour draws spot #13 in the next round of the Tournament at Glory 100 and will be in Group D.

Bout 6: Cihad Kepenek vs Ionut Ianku
Kepenek is outworking the big Romanian Tank in the first few minutes, but soon after Ianku buzzez him badly with some big punches, and drops him in the final minute of the round. Kepenek is limping badly at the end of the 1st round, and his corner throws in the towel before the start of the 2nd round. Ianku advances with a TKO after 1 round had been completed.
Ianku draws spot #14 in the next round of the Tournament at Glory 100 and will be in Group D facing Iraj Azizpour.
Bout 7: Alin Nechita vs Ahmed Krnjic
Nechita, the smallest and youngest competitor in the Tournament doing well in the first rounds with explosive punches on Krnjic. Krnjic controls the 2nd round using his size well. A controversial knockdown call in the 3rd gives Nechita the edge in a bout he otherwise would've lost. Slight controversy here, but Nechita is gonna get the win.
Nechita draws spot #6 in the next round of the Tournament at Glory 100 and will be in Group B.
Bout 8: Tomas Mozny vs Sina Karimian
A bit of controversy in the 1st round with Karimian getting a knockdown on the break (seems to be a theme this weekend in Combat Sports), and it results in Karimian getting a point deduction. Amazingly Mozny gets up and continues after being completely knocked out by the foul blow. He wins the 2nd and 3rd rounds, and will take a Unanimous Decision.
Mozny draws spot #4 in the next round of the Tournament at Glory 100 and will be in Group A.

Bout 9: Nicolas Wamba vs Mory Kromah
Womba stuns Kromah in the 1st with a head kick. Kromah stuns him back with a flying knee, and then proceeds to outwork him to take the round. They're fighting competitively in the 2nd round, Wamba throws a spinning kick and injures himself it seems as he falls down in pain after rising and is unable to continue. Kromah wins by TKO in the 2nd.
Kromah draws spot #5 in the next round of the Tournament at Glory 100 and will be in Group B facing Alin Nechita.
Bout 10: Murat Aygun vs Asadulla Nasipov
Nasipov outworks the fat turk to a Unanimous Decision.
Nasipov draws spot #15 in the next round of the Tounrnament at Glory 100, and will be in Group D facing Anis Bouzid

Laidouni destroys this guy within the first minute.
Laidouni draws spot #12 in the next round of the Tournament at Glory 100, and will be in Group C.
Bout 12: Nabil Khebhab vs Milos Cujeticanin
Milos outworks the big man to a Split Decision victory.
Miles draws spot #3 in the next round of the Tournament at Glory 100, and will be in Group C facing
Bout 13: Nico Pereira Horta vs Rade Opacic
Opacic controls the first round outworking Horta, but is caught and knocked out by a big straight left hand in the 2nd round. Horta wins by KO.
Horta draws spot #2 in the next round of the Tournament at Glory 100, and will be in Group A facing Colin George.

Bout 14: Tariq Osara vs Benjamin Adegbuyi
Adegbuyi was one of the top rated Heavyweight Kickboxers many years ago the last time I was able to watch, but it seems as if age has caught up with him because he was rocked early and often in this fight, and was unable to make it out of the 1st round. Osara wins by 1st round TKO.
Osara draws spot #9 in the next round of the Tournament at Glory 100, and will be in Group C facing Luigj Gashi.
Bout 15: Bahran Rajabzadeh vs Brian Douwes
Bahran gives one of the most dazzling performances of the night, fighting at a furious pace and overwhelming Douwes with kicks and punches from the opening bell. Douwes fights gamely as long as he can, but is unable to survive the 1st round assault from Rajabzadeh.
Bahran Rajabzadeh draws spot #7 in the next round of the Tournament at Glory 100, and will be in Group B facing Asdren Gashi
Bout 16: Jamal Ben Saddik vs Cristian Ristea
Ben Saddik who has been one of the top contenders for many years remains one of the top contenders with a win here. He plays it safe, and mostly just uses his reach to keep hitting Ristea with big punches from a distance. Winning every round, and taking a Unanimous Decision.
Ben Saddik draws spot #11 in the next round of the Tournament at Glory 100, and will be in Group C facing Sofian Laidouni.
