Tough to guess with so many ways to cover up usage.
I would say a minimum of 50%

If we are including ones who have a team/friendly doctor using creative TUEs (how many top cyclists and soccer players conveniently get diagnosed with asthma in their late teens and 20s and use the medication, for example?), I would say the percentage of the Top 100 is close to 100%.

I am at that point where I think we should not even mention it and return to an ignorance is bliss mindset. Before steroids and such things were made illegal circa 1990, do you not thing those amazingly muscular greats battling it out in 15 rounders were using stuff?

Lance Armstrong got away with it almost his whole career. the best doctors stay ahead of the testers. the more money you have the better doctors which leads to more success and mo' money

I'd say only a few % are not, because they are honest and don't care if everyone else is cheating. some might not because they are not confident they can do it well enough not to get caught.

From what I understand, it really took off in the 90s after Evander Holyfield proved himself while integrating increased weight training into his regiment. There were a lot of old timey trainers who saw the buff/cut/vascular guys as being too inflexible, slow, and lacking in endurance typically. The last part is probably accurate for a lot of bodydonnas since cardio isn't necessarily part of the overall bodybuilding package, but the other two were pretty much disproven.

(Holyfield's own cardio of course should come up, and if you remember his career, you will immediately recall that he had a multitude of "issues" mid-career that were solved by faith healer Benny Hinn. Ain't it weird that a guy whose doppleganger of Evan Fields kept ordering HGH and roids to the house they lived in together also had heart issues which might resemble that of someone who was a heavy steroid user?)

I'm sure Eastern Europe had their amateurs on significant supplement packages too. I mean, c'mon, they had large scale sports doping programs.

Top 100 in the sport? Or Top 100 by division? Only men?

Have used or actively use?

I suspect the have used list is near 100% just cuz of all the banned substances that are listed that you could buy in Walmart & have no clue they are PEDs even if you didn't intend to use a PED.

The actively use list is probably sub-50% as I suspect ppl cycle on & off during periods of inactivity more than they use regular or for every fight. I've also seen studies that suggest certain banned substances can give you benefits for years if not indefinitely so it might not be worth the risk to continually use & risk a ban when you've already upped your body's capabilities depending on what you've used to enhance yourself.

Anyone who regularly "retires" only to keep coming back should automatically be assumed to be using PEDs.

As should be most HWs.

Of course, not all PEDs are the same, and not all are illegal.

Therefore I'd say 100% of the top 100 are probably using PEDs, and out of those 100 a good 70% might be using illegal PEDs.

Anyway, it was a good job for Mike Tyson that he didn't fight a Mitch Green on angel dust (PCP).

At least not in the ring.

The last thing you'd want to face is an opponent who feels and acts as if they're unstoppable.
