Two titles are on the line at Ariake Arena in Tokyo, when Junto Nakatani faces Ryosuke Nishida in an all-Japanese bantamweight championship unification. Nakatani puts his WBC belt on the line, while Nishida brings his IBF strap to the ring.

In the 10-round bantamweight co-feature, Japan’s unbeaten former kickboxing star Tenshin Nasukawa takes on Victor Santillan of the Dominican Republic. In the telecast opener, Tomoya Tsuboi of Japan and Van Thao Tran of Vietnam clash for the WBO Asia Pacific 118 lbs belt.

Big balls by Nishida, standing toe to toe with Nakatani. There was just too be of andifference in power.

I'd think Nakatani vs Inoue has to be planned for either this year or next year. Seldom that you'd have 2 Japanese Champions operating on this level in the same weight range.

Shame Nishida's eye gave out like that, he was well in the fight early on, some great back and forth action, maybe Nakatani would've pulled away regardless of the eye who knows but Nakatani got better as it went on, puts hard combinations together and fights at a high pace, Nishida tried to hang but that eye was never gonna go 12, Nakatani brilliant again

Nishida showed a lot of class! If his eye didn't go (big if), that fight would have been up in the air.

Nakatani will not unify with Bam.

Instead, he will now vacate his 118 belts and move up to 122.

Needs to get ready for Inoue.
