What some people think of a pro others may say its a con. Today fighters don't fight anywhere near as regular as they used it but you can look it as they aren't damaging themselves as much. Also I think fighters today are more aware of the dangers of boxing and things like diet, S&C, recovery etc are more known about now.

PEDS, PEDS, PEDS.

The top boys only fight once or twice per year so they don't test positive. The best boxers throughout history have all been in incredible condition. You can talk about modern boxers having access to better nutrition and more modern training methods, but they simply don't have the stamina or work rate of Marvin Hagler or Henry Armstrong.

You have to caveat this though as drug testing only really started in maybe the 1990s. Even then sporadic at best. The use of PEDs isn’t a new thing and others sports have cases of PED use dating back decades, we can’t assume boxers in previous generations weren’t taking something that would be illegal today, of course we would never know but it would be naive to think it wasn’t a thing back then too.

Do you think Marvin Hagler was on PEDs?

No idea, I like to think not but as I say we will never know for sure as they didn’t test then. Boxing is the most corrupt sport in the world so I’m sure lots of stuff goes on behind the scenes, especially in times testing didn’t exist

When it comes to stamina and work rate, I don't think guys like Calzaghe, Pacquiao, Usyk have anything to be ashamed of, when compared to the old-timers!

One of them three maybe not a good example, lots of suspicions around how 'natural' he was

PEDs are the biggest one.

I am sure there are some advanatges too in terms of making weight.

Contemporary fighters have better access to quality video of their opponents too.

But these are nothing to do with how great someone is or isn't. Put them in the same era and they all have these advantages.

I would guess yes.
