Tommy Coyle assaulted in Hull city centre

Just posted in his Instagram saying he got assaulted while out with mates. Been to hospital and all clear now.
Sad as while we would all no doubt love to be a top pro boxer it must come with idiots goading you every time your out in a night out.

Mickey Walker said it in the book 'In This Corner...' about avoiding places where there is alcohol and mixed company if you're a famous fighter because there will always be someone 'who thinks they're Jack Dempsey after a few beers' and wants to impress some woman there. Can you do night outs in your town if you're a famous fighter? Maybe but you're going to attract the idiots - guaranteed.

I saw something with one of his brothers with his top off in the street and his other brother pulling him away. I’d imagine this was part of it.

I think that’s probably true. I met Tommy not long after he fought Katsidis and he seemed to be a really nice bloke. Very down to earth. Certainly not a big I am.
He’s probably not the biggest Hull name in his family though with 2 of his brothers playing for the football team (one captaining them). I’d imagine it’d be tough for them to go out together.
Pretty incredible really for 4 brothers - one a pro boxer who fought at a good level, 2 pro footballers and one pro golfer.

clubs seem like toxic places
a bunch of blokes with too much in their system all trying to be the big dawg. sweaty sausage fest. need like 3 women for ever block and then maybe it would be a cool place

Just seen it. Apparently the guy who did it was, rightly, arrested.
