Taylor wasn't in Roy's league.

Which year are we speaking of?

Peak vs peak - hands down, Roy. Decision, knockout - anyhow.

But I also remember this fight was being discussed back in '07 (after Taylor-Spinks and before Taylor-Pavlik) and then in '08 (after Pavlik-Taylor 2). At a catch weight. I believe, it's possible to revive old internet archives to check whether my memory is correct about that one.

Anyway, Taylor from 2nd Pavlik fight should've beaten Roy from Trinidad fight. Perhaps, not as comprehensively as Calzaghe did. But I'd say, Taylor would've been able to win a relatively clear decision at that moment.

I don't recall him getting knocked down against Lacy.

Good little write up
I'll have to rewatch that sequence. From what I remember, Lacy's punch didn't land clean. His overhand right kind of tangled over Jermain's shoulder or something.

But like I said, I'll take a look at that episode again.

I haven't watched that fight since it first happened myself. I'd be curious to see that particular moment again, but the rest of the fight there wasn't really much to watch.

It seemed like Lacy won some rounds early, and then proceeded to get outboxed handily the rest of the way.

I haven't seen it for years, too. Maybe, I'll take a look at that particular episode.

Either Jones take a decision of stopping Taylor late after he overwhelm him with speedy jabs and combinations.
