Career based who takes it?

I would say Jake LaMotta by a hair. He beat the great Sugar Ray Robinson in Robinson's prime.

But, Carmen Basilio won two world titles in 2 different weight classes.

I won't be mad if someone rates Basilio over LaMotta. It's splitting hairs between the two.

I'd give it to Lamotta by a fair margin. Similarly aggressive fighters in their styles. Lamotta has bigger wins, and a better winning percentage overall.

Basilio makes it close by being a 2 division Champion, but even though Lamotta's career was mostly at Middleweight his ledger has more top contenders, and Championship caliber opponents on it.
