DAVE ALLEN IN NEGOTIATIONS TO FIGHT MYSTERY OPPONENT NEXT AFTER RECEIVING 'TWO BIG APPROACHES'
SOLIHULL, England — Dave Allen could find himself in a big-money fight against a mystery opponent next after Eddie Hearn revealed to The Ring that plans to fight Jeamie 'TKV' Tshikeva for the British heavyweight title may be put on hold.
Allen (24-7-2, 19 KOs), a much-loved and popular figure among British fans, revived his career following a controversial defeat to Johnny Fisher last December, before going on to stop the 'Romford Bull' in the 5th round of their May 17 rematch.
Since then, Hearn, who re-signed Allen on a two-fight deal as a result of a contractual stipulation from the Fisher victory, has spoken of his excitement at guiding the Doncaster man into some winnable but lucrative fights over the next 6-12 months.
A clash for what will become the vacant British title, after the announcement that champion David Adeleye will fight Filip Hrgovic next, against Tshikeva was one of those options.
A potential fight with Deontay Wilder, who takes on Tyrrell Herndon on June 27 in Wichita, Kansas, has been floated, too.
However, Hearn says there's been multiple approaches for Allen to fight against a 'top 5 heavyweight' in his next fight. It's thought that a fight against Joseph Parker for his WBO 'interim' heavyweight title, could be on the table, though Hearn wouldn't be drawn on any names.
"There's actually a few options," Hearn told The Ring. "The plan, as of about 72 hours ago, was to fight Jamie TKV for the British title, but we've since had two big approaches.
"I kind of always thought of Dave as a guy that you just sling in for the money, because you never know with him ... but he's got ability, and he's kind of turned the corner a little bit in terms of his training, and he's become unbelievably popular.
"So, I'd like to see him win the British title, headline the Sheffield Arena, but if it's the amount of money that will give him six or seven en-suites and all he ever wanted was one, we've got to look at it."
Quizzed on whether the fight in question would be on a Riyadh Season card, Hearn remained coy.
"Maybe, not necessarily."

Who are the options then? Kabayel, Wardley, Parker? All a waste of time. Allen would be a sitting duck unfortunately. Honestly think he'd be better off beating TKV and going into a big fight with the label of a British title giving him more bargaining power.
Alternatively, Sanchez, Ajagba, Chisora, Bakole, Hunter, Miller, Pero are all technically "top 5" as they're ranked top 5 by alphabet orgs and we know how promoters like to take liberties with phrases like that. Some of those are beatable, I just don't think it's worth giving up a pretty easy British title shot when you consider legacy and possible options after that.

I believe Adeylele and TKV got five figures for their British title fight. Even if Allen gets a bit more and wins, does it really add any bargaining power? If someone is offering serious money while his profile is high they have to consider it.

Dave Allen is the
wrong guy for that.
Dave can take a shot and launch one.
AJ needs a pillow fisted, glass jawed, cardio averse asmatic to build his confidence at this stage

I expect the approach coming from a promoter who isn't one of Hearn's guys

It might give him that 10% more but he also gets to tell his grandkids he was British champion. He will also remain an option for a big fight regardless as none of these guys are giving him AJ/Fury money as an opponent. They'll all be offering a similar amount you'd think.

TKV for the british is the fight id like to see.
Xhoxhaj For the euro would also be cool.
I like them for winnable fights with real belts.
Talk of Parker. I am not a huge fan except for one funny possability which is if Usyk/ddd winner drop the wbo and Parker is elevated to full champion it would be good to see Dave get a shot at a legit ment world title….
Who else could he fight? Zhang? Joyce? Wilder? Mak truck? These kinda big names where Allen would be seen as a comeback fight for them but for Dave all of them would be potentialy beatable.

So it's Joseph Parker then.
For money it's a yes but Dave hasn't a chance against Parker and it could be a painful evening. Is money worth more than health on this occasion?

Think Parker needs to leave Warren if this is the best he can get for him. What is this rubbish?

Ticking over at best, but no money in it, better off taking 2m for Moses

This has happened before with Dave he gets a half decent win and then suddenly goes in with these huge names like he did with Luis Ortiz and Tony Yoka. Is there no middle ground between Johnny Fisher and the guy most consider to be the number 1 contender currently in Joseph Parker?

It is baffling.
There
are interim guys between Fisher and Parker for sure, and cheaper than Parker- who is sighting the final fights of his career, and obviously wants to maximize his earnings and legacy.
This is a miss match, and brings nothing to the sport. I don't think there is anything to be learned from Parker's viewpoint, and it's not exactly winnable from Allen's either.
I don't know what Parker has done to Fwank to deserve this raw deal.
