Wayne Elcock destroyed Darren Rhodes in one round in his first fight in front of his home fans, Wayne caught Rhodes with a short left, then after Rhodes took a count Elcock set about smashing Rhodes against the ropes before stepping back and catching Rhodes with some devastating shots, I have watched Wayne many times before and i have to say since he decided not to sign a new contract with Maloney he boxing has improved, on the form yesterday he will give any middleweight in Europe problems.

That is an impressive win, I know he is a light middle - but has anyone done that to Rhodes.

Welcome back, Wayne.

Nice to see Wayne back, he is a nice boxer with good power, will always be questions over his chin after his 1 round loss though.

Would be nice to see him get in a position to challenge Dann for the British title.

His chin is sound enough, he'd never been down as an amature or a pro before, Murphy caught him on the temple end of story, i hope a return fight will be on with Murphy.

I could see him handling Murphy quite easily, Murphy hangs his chin way up in the air, and it would help Wayne to get rid of any mental hangups over his loss.

Elcock looked very sharp last night. He's definately going to be a force on the British and European stage IMO, especially if he's improved his power.

There was a really good atmosphere for the Elcock fight, while it lasted.

It was probably just a case of elcock getting caught cold. I have been impressed with him in his fights pre Murphy and wouldnt mind seeing him in with Scott Dann.

Cracking result that for Wayne - good crowd, good atmosphere - lets see plenty more of it in Brum!

I hope Wayne and the rest of the local lads can show SM, Matchroom and all the other major promoters what a mistake they have made in ignoring Birmingham/West Mids in recent years....
