The greatest victory in British boxing history, imo. Randy Turpin W15 Sugar Ray Robinson. Your thoughts, gents.

Obviously, a huge win for Turpin. He beat arguably the greatest fighter of all time.
To be fair to Robinson, this was his 9th fight since winning the title against LaMotta 5 months earlier. He just had a fight 9 days before this one and this was his 5th fight in 31 days. It's extremely hard to fight at a high level when you are fighting this often.
Still, how many other guys could have beaten Robinson? Not many.
As for it being the biggest win in British history, it has to be up there. Can't think of one that would be as good.

Other wins that could be in contention:
Honeyghan stopping Don Curry when he was p4p no1 (RTD 6)
Kid Berg giving Kid Chocolate his first defeat (close decision)
Berg also has a win over Canzoneri but lost to him twice

The great Bob Fitzsimmons's victory over Gentleman James J. Corbett is the greatest win in British boxing history.
He gave the master Corbett "The Solar Plexus Punch" and that was it for Corbett. Fitzsimmons was coming from the middleweight division to capture his second world championship. Also, that win made Ruby Robert the first British boxer to win the World Heavyweight crown.
That was March 17, 1897. It was probably the first world championship heavyweight bout recorded on film if I am not mistaken.

Brits dont get to claim Fitz. He had nothing to do with British boxing other than being born there.
