Cancelling DAZN after Dubois Vs Usyk

Hi all - bought the PPV on Saturday, going onto DAZN.com it says I will automatically be paying a monthly fee after 26th July (end of 7 day trial). Spent the last 15 mins trying to work out how to cancel this - any ideas?! Sure they deliberately make it as hidden / complicated as possible!

Worked it out - had to scan QR on tv for the cancel option to appear on my phone.

This was one of the reasons I didn’t buy it, I was seeing loads of posts online how people couldn’t cancel and were in long queues to speak to an advisor. But seems like it can be done so maybe I will consider signing up next time.

i know a lot of apps and companies make this deliberately difficult, but DAZN don't. I've done it twice now and both times it was the same. no phonecalls or whatever, just go into your account and subscriptions. cancel. didn't even have to Google it like I normally have to nowadays. I'm not DAZN fan either

Presumably you don’t get a free trial each time or did you sign up using a different email address?

Warning to boxing fans:
I paid £24.99 for the Usyk vs Dubois fight thinking it was a one-off PPV. DAZN secretly tied it to a monthly subscription, and I only found out when they charged me again the next month. Their own support admitted you can’t buy a single event without a subscription, but this was never explained at checkout. Cancelled now, but I lost £24.99. Be careful — it’s a subscription trap.

That sounds so fraudulent and deceptive! And I’m not anti Dazn I’ve got a subscription
How can that be ethical at all

Isn’t when you buy a PPV they give you a month free?
And you have to then cancel it?
I thought that’s what some lads on here do?

Yeah it’s not particularly clear that you’re signing up to DAZN permanently tho, unless you’re specifically looking out for it. Definitely a deliberate con to trick people into subscribing inadvertently, like when Amazon defaults you into selecting Prime for 7 days free at checkout then charges you over £100 a week later for an annual sub
Those sort of dodgy practices should be banned, and DAZN are absolutely not to be trusted on anything.

Bought an annual subscription for £90 which runs out 10th November, they emailed saying my renewal price is £120
Is it worth biding my time and waiting for a black Friday discount or some other such reduction ?

If you think £10 a month is worth it, considering we now get Frank’s shows too. Then go for it: Good Friday isn’t long away.. if you wanna hold out. Surely they’ll have a deal on.
Or if you let this expire and cancel. They probably send you and email with an offer.

Yeah it makes sense to do what you say in the last paragraph Ruthie although if a better offer wasn’t forthcoming I’d have to slink back to them with my tail between my legs eventually ….. where else am I gonna go - they’ve pretty much got the uk market sewn up

I just treat it like a glorified PPV delivery service and only sub ad-hoc if there’s a particular month / show which I absolutely can’t miss. Paying annually is a fool’s game when they put 95% of their biggest cards behind an extra PPV gate.
