Chronicling America -The Library of Congress

I don't know how many posters here have made use of the vintage newspaper section of the Library of Congress, but I've been using it as a major source for research for more than fifteen years. This year they decided it was working too well and decided to make it more cumbersome and inefficient. What used to take a few minutes to locate information now is a huge headache. For instance, you used to just enter a keyword such as a name and a range of dates and be presented with a group of pages pertaining just to that keyword with that name in bold. Now you get a jumble of newspapers, some pages and some whole issues that you have to hunt through to find what you're looking for. It's a real mess.
What was once a valuable resource has been made useless.

Have never tried it myself. It sounds like it was pretty cool. Often solutions are found in search of a problem. Hopefully you will better luck in the future with it.

I've used it in the past and recently went back to it. I was quite too aback to see that it had changed totally. It was very easy to use before, now it's a total ball ache. On my PC I can only read the pages by pressing "PDF" as the other option doesn't load.
A classic case of "if it ain't broke don't try and fix it".
