Fightnews interviewed Oscar De La Hoya ahead of the Barrera vs Fana PPV and he more than hinted that should Barrera win he might move up to Lightweight and try and become the first Mexican to win a world title a 4 different weights.

I think that could be a mistake, I still see him as a smallish featherweight.

When he beat Naz he said he wasn`t a feather.

Just selling him on his name now, great if he does it because he`s too proud to do the WBU champ, he`ll want a proper title so he`ll have a proper fight for it.

He might be gifted enough to pull it off.

Tough call, it's maybe just De La Hoya doing a bit of promtional hype. Barrera did look strong against Morales but can he go up yet another weight division? I am not so sure, there are some very good Champions at Lightweight and there are some 'big' Lightweights out there.

Bad mistake! Barrera has been one of my favorites for a long time, but I just don't think that he is strong enough to handle a Castillo, or Corrales, but if he can, he should have no problems with the rest of the class!

I wouldn't like to see Barrera vs Castillo and especially vs Corrales (even though I tip Castillo to beat Corrales). However, Barrera vs Juan Diaz would be an absolute tear up - has fight of the year all over it.

My favorite veteran vs my favorite youngster... I dunno if I could handle that...

I think Barrera would have a great chance of beating Castillo. Not sure about Corrales though he is too big.

I think MAB is too small for lightweight; but I can see why he wants to move up: ever since the first Morales fight he's been desperate to get oneupmanship over Erik. El Terrible's always going on about how hard it is to make the weight (whichver weight he's fighting at), and MAB -- and probably DLH, the whole thumbing his nose to Arum thing -- wants to get the four titles first in my opinion.

It might just be bluff and counter-bluff, though.

Having said all that I agree (and would pay to see) Juan Diaz versus Barrera. That'd be one Hell of a fight.

That guy had absolutely no business being in the ring with Barrera, a horrific mismatch. I know Barrera has earned a soft defence, but christ almighty, didn't Fana's people worry about his prospects.

De La Hoya quite often gives his fighters hard fights so Barrera can expect another difficult match at lightweight if he decides to go there.

Will Froch and Witter come through the matches Oscar will set for them?, Witter seems good enough but Froch has had an easy run so far and may be all together different.

I could foresee Freitas WINNING a rematch with Corrales and Barrera BEATING the Brazilian but the other champions are surely TOO big.

This fight was an unbelievable mismatch. You could watch a Fana fight for free at Boxingtalk and you could see within a round of his fight that Barrera was going to smoke him.

About the same as Eddie Croft.

I have fears Hatton - Tszyu will turn out to be a mismatch like this: out-boxed, blew away in two, clean KO, etc.

Hatton's style obviously raises most of these doubts, but you can't overlook the fact he has not fought in a proper competitive eliminator. Even Fana fought an 'unbeaten' fighter for his shot. The last time Ricky fought an unbeaten fighter it was at Central Area level.

Can see Fana coming over here at some point in the future and being competitve at IBO level.

Well, Tszyu did blow away Judah and Mitchell, Leija's done the best of recent opponents.
