Flyweight Champions who became Featherweight Champions

I'm trying to put into perspective just how amazing what Pacquiao accomplished in his era was. I believe very few former Flyweight Champions have even moved on to find success as Featherweights right? Very few anyhow, and I know Pac in a class all by himself as far as success any further beyond Featherweight for a former Flyweight.

I can recall a handful of guys who went on to win Bantamweight titles. I don't recall if Donaire won a title at Featherweight, but I know he was a former Flyweight Champion.

The list has gotta be pretty short with guys that have done this as well right?

Yeah he took it all the way to Jr. Middleweight which is astonishing, and a one of a kind feat for any boxer his size.

I knew even the ones that had to Featherweight had to be a short list.

Inoue started at 115 right?

Fidel La Barba came very close. He won the flyweight champion. Lost a close decision to Kid Chocolate for the featherweight title. Many thought he should have got the decision.

Yeh, the Margarito fight.

was there a catchweight? 150 pounds.

I believe Pac weighed even below WW limit around 144.. Margarito was 150.

on the night, Pacquiao entered the ring at 147 pounds while Margarito entered at 165 pounds.

I don't know honestly. I don't tend to remember catchweights.

Vic didn’t win a belt at featherweight, I don’t think. He got KO’d at least twice trying. I don’t think he even won one at jr. Featherweight, but I might be wrong. I think his only belt at bantamweight was IBO

With all the belts and the level of “champions,” Monster Inoue should be able to go from jr. Flyweight to a featherweight belt. Nakatani is big enough to have a shot at it too. Bam Rodriguez is probably too small
