MP Promotions announces first American show on November 29th in California

Lorenzo Parra vs Elijah Pierce will headline Manny Pacquiao’s first promotional venture on American soil

Temecula, CA’s Pechanga Resort Casino will host Manny Pacquiao Promotions’ first show on American soil, which sees promotional featherweight hope Lorenzo Parra face Elijah Pierce in a WBO final eliminator on November 29th.

Venezuela’s Parra (23-1-1, 17 KO), unbeaten since a 2017 decision loss to standout countryman Yonfrez Parejo, was last seen fighting undefeated Omar Cande Trinidad to a draw on Fight Pass this past August. The press release calls him a “prospect,” which is a bit strong considering he’s 30 and has fought once in the past two years, but it’s nice to see an over-performing B-side get another opportunity.

Pierce (21-2, 17 KO) dropped well-aged decisions to Giovani Cabrera and Sulaiman Segawa before embarking on his current 12-fight winning streak, the highlights of which largely consist of guys who lost to notable fighters. That includes Tramaine Williams, Mike Plania, and most recently Michael Dasmarinas, who actually sat Pierce down in the first round before succumbing in the ninth.

Manny Pacquiao Jr is also set to make his pro debut after a brief and forgettable amateur run.

Elijah Pierce-Lorenzo Parra Title Eliminator Tops Pacquiao Promotions' First Card

The inaugural card's main event for Manny Pacquiao's promotion in the U.S. is set.

The International Boxing Hall of Famer and eight-division champion’s promotion, Manny Pacquiao Promotions, will host its first card stateside on November 29 at Pechanga Resort Casino in Temecula, California.

The card will be headlined by Elijah Pierce vs. Lorenzo Parra in a 12-round WBO featherweight title eliminator.

"It is an honor to bring Manny Pacquiao Promotions to the U.S.," Pacquiao said via press release.

"November 29 marks a pivotal new beginning. Some of my greatest memories took place in U.S. rings, and I’m proud to now create opportunities for the next generation of champions. With talent-rich events like this one, we will spotlight rising contenders and provide a platform for fighters to perform on a global stage."

MPP is co-promoting the card alongside World Boxing Champions Promotions and Patrick Ortiz of Ringside Ticket Inc. The broadcaster, commentary team and the rest of the undercard will be announced at a later date.

Pierce (21-2, 17 KOs), ranked No. 2 with the WBC, No. 3 by the WBO and No. 11 with the IBF, has won 12 straight fights.

Pierce, 29, of Oklahoma City, climbed off the canvas to win by ninth-round knockout against Michael Dasmarinas on July 25 and in doing so, won a secondary WBO featherweight belt.

Parra (23-1-1, 17 KOs) of Machiques, Venezuela, enters this contest after a 10-round majority draw against Omar Trinidad on August 15 for his WBC Continental Americas title at 126-pounds.

Trinidad sits at No. 2 with the IBF and No. 6 across the WBA, WBC and WBO rankings.

Prior to facing Trinidad (19-0-2, 13 KOs) in his first fight after a two-year absence, the 30-year-old was on a nine-fight win streak, most recently a split decision nod against Javon Woodard Jr (15-2, 13 KOs) in August 2023.

The title eliminator marks the first scheduled 12-round bout for both, with the winner moving closer to a shot against WBO beltholder Rafael Espinoza - who has his own business to take care of.

The Ring's No. 1-rated featherweight Espinoza (27-0, 23 KOs) will make his fourth title defence and first on home soil in Mexico against Arnold Khegai (23-2-1, 14 KOs) on November 15, two weeks prior.

The card will also feature the pro debut of Pacquiao's son Manny 'Jimuel' Pacquiao Jr and he'll be trained by Marvin Somodio, a longtime assistant of IBHOF trainer Freddie Roach, his father's longtime trainer. Jimuel has boxed in the amateur ranks over the last three years, with an opponent to be announced at a later date.

Jimuel Pacquiao: Everything You Need To Know About Manny Pacquiao’s Son Ahead Of His Pro Debut

Just over thirty years on from Manny Pacquiao‘s professional debut, the son of the Filipino great is just hours away from entering the paid ranks and continuing the Pacquiao legacy.

Emmanuel ‘Jimuel’ Pacquiao Jr is all set to have his first professional bout at the Pechanga Resort & Casino in Temecula tonight, as he gears up to face fellow debutant Brendan Lally in a four round lightweight bout.

The 24-year-old from California has had just ten amateur bouts, winning six of these before making the decision to enter the professional ranks.

Just like his legendary father, ‘Jimuel’ has been training out of the world famous Wildcard Boxing Gym in Los Angeles alongside highly-respected coaches Marvin Somodio and Freddie Roach.

In a recent interview, Pacquiao admitted that he is ‘excited’ to finally make his professional debut, as he claims his father has been a ‘huge inspiration’ for him.

“It’s a big moment for me, and I’m very excited to finally make my professional debut. My father has been a huge inspiration and a great mentor. I’ve learned so much from him, not just about boxing, but about dedication and hard work.”

Whilst all eyes will be on ‘Jimuel’ on Saturday night, it is also set to be a memorable occasion for his opponent Brendan Lally, who is also making his professional debut and will have his sights firmly set on spoiling the party.

As for Manny, he looks set to continue his own legendary career by competing again in 2026, having made a sensational return to the sport earlier this year when he fought to a draw with WBC welterweight champion Mario Barrios.
