By either taking dives or never intending to give a serious effort.

Jesse Clarke was another like him. Columbus, Ohio had some real stiffs/ dive artists.

He must mean this fella

Looks like he actually got his ass whipped by some notable names at least. Buster Douglas beat him up twice.

Three times actually. That has to be the worst trilogy in the history of the sport.

Probably not. I always figured it was another fighter's alias.

When I see records of fighters like this, I wonder how the matchup is spun in the program the fans get on the way into the arena.
Seriously is it printed as for example,
Buster Douglas 13 -0
Vs
This fella 0-28 ?
Most people would say , “this can’t be serious “
Mighta been a little record fudging going on.
Lol

Maybe they do like the British ring announcers do. Instead of introducing him as 0-28. Introduce him as "A veteran of 28 contests"

If you recall, stan johnson was the cornerman for McClellan during the benn fight. He had a stable of tomatocans (including himself - he was tomatocan stan)
Gman didnt want to pay manny steward so his cousin donnie pendelton (a can in the stable) hook him up with stan

I wonder if Steward being in his corner that fight would've prevented the tragic outcome we got.

Trainers like Al Braverman and Gil Clancy were the boss in the corners-they weren't afraid of any fighter.
