What if Lomachenko, unable to secure Lopez rematch that he was gunning for, makes a sudden move up in weight and challenges Josh Taylor for all his belts at 140?

Taylor beat Jose Ramirez in the bout for Undisputed at 140 in May 2021 in Vegas. A month later, Loma bounces back after a loss to Lopez and stops Nakatani at the same Vegas venue.

Top Rank makes an in-house bout between Taylor and Loma. Fight takes place somewhere in late 202. Loma, who was previously vocal about his inability to fight at 140, comes in at 136lbs (technically, that's already a super-lightweight division).

Who do you think would've come out on top?

Taylor isn't a big hitter, or a particularly strong guy for his weight. He had to rely on Boxing and timing to beat guys. Lomachenko is a superior boxer with better timing, movement and speed.

I favor Lomachenko.

I think, Taylor was pretty big and tall for the weight. I also remember him roughing Prograis up at close. I suppose, he had strength on the inside.

On the downside for Josh, weight-cut was apparently taking a lot out of him. Especially, during the mentioned time period.

Loma's bodyshots could've been nasty for him.
