BoxRec announce groundbreaking partnership with BKB
BoxRec, the world’s leading authority for combat sports record management, is announcing a groundbreaking partnership with BKB (Bare Knuckle Boxing), the world’s largest bare knuckle fighting organization in terms of roster, library and distribution, becoming the official data partner for the fastest-growing combat sport globally.

This collaboration solidifies BoxRec’s commitment to accuracy, integrity, and transparency in tracking and verifying BKB fighter records and rankings, ensuring every punch counts in the annals of combat sports history.

For over 25 years, BoxRec has been the trusted source for combat sports data, cataloging over 3 million fights and serving as the standard reference for 564 combat sports authorities worldwide. Since 2018, BoxRec has applied its rigorous standards to bare knuckle boxing, becoming the only federally regulated data provider for the sport. With more than 24 million active users annually, BoxRec’s objective, transparent rankings reflect the true landscape of bare knuckle boxing, grounded in verified bout results.

This partnership with BKB marks a significant milestone in the evolution of bare knuckle boxing. In 2024, BoxRec tracked 109 bare knuckle events across 17 countries, with 2025 projected to surpass these figures. As the official data partner, BoxRec will ensure that BKB fighters’ records are accurately documented, respected, and recognized on a global stage.

John Sheppard, Founder of BoxRec, said: “We’ve analysed our data, and there’s no question that bare knuckle fighting is the fastest-growing combat sport in the world. BoxRec is proud to partner with BKB, continuing our long-standing commitment to accurate, impartial record keeping. While we began solely as a boxing record keeper, we now follow athletes throughout their fighting careers, beyond the boxing ring. Partnering with a like-minded organization like BKB allows us to support the growth and recognition of this evolving sport worldwide.”

David Tetreault, CEO of BKB Bare Knuckle, said: “BKB is excited to partner with BoxRec, the gold standard in combat sports data. This collaboration ensures our fighters’ records are accurately tracked and globally recognized, elevating the credibility and visibility of bare knuckle boxing as we continue to grow the sport.”

The next chapter of combat sports history is being written, and BoxRec is honoured to help BKB keep score, ensuring fighters are celebrated for their courage and skill in the bare knuckle arena.

So BKB is paying Boxrec to add their fights? Doesn't seem very impartial

So it's BKB and not BKFC.

Aer they already listing BKFC?

they should just list all bare-knuckle.

fighters move around don't they.

I assumed there was no money involved. Just announcing extension of the same services they provide to boxing, to BKB.

Manages and promoters pay monthly fees to register themselves on the platform don't they. That's one of the sources of income I take it

I don't think that would be a groundbreaking partnership that needed an announcement.

I think we live in a world where every announcement has to be declared as 'groundbreaking'.

Happy to be wrong though.

I never thought that happened. It certainly didn't a few years ago.

I believed it was still a free service that survived on ad revenues and a few projects (like running the BBBofC website).

I think BKB is the name that people ultimately settled on for the sport.

Like in the early days of MMA when some were calling it "Cage Fighting" or "No Holds Barred", but finally everyone settled on "Mixed Martial Arts" aka MMA.

Bareknuckle Fighting Championship I think was one of the first Bareknuckle promotions in recent years, and at this point there's various other promoters of the sport, but I think whatever you want to call the promotion "Bareknuckle Boxing" aka BKB is certainly the right name of the sport.

I'm surprised they actually get the biggest names to even take those pictures to be honest.

Boxrec is mentioned by name in the recently released PS5 video game Undisputed. I'd imagine they probably got a bit of $$$ for that.

It's pretty cool that it's become such an established part of the Sport.

I wouldn’t have thought so mate. You can reference anything without having to pay royalties.

Lot of people here seem to view BoxRec as a means to print money. I would say it’s a labour of love that has a lot of respect, but has probably only just begun wiping its face in the last few years (which is an achievement in itself).
