I cant find round by round odds on Labrokes or Betfair, he could have just nipped down the bookies I guess. Might chuck a tenner on round 1, much as I dont want it to happen if he has put that money on he might go allout like crazy in the first.

feel bad about it, but I really hope Veit pulls off an upset, or even more funny JC is on the end of a really crappy home town decision.
how badly does a fighter and promoter have to treat the fans that they want to see him beat? Perhaps Jc and Allegedly can run masterclasses

I don't blame allegedly, at the end of the day, nobody can forcefully protect a fighter against his will. Hatton is about to face Tszyu, he's doing something Calzaghe never did, and that is to face the man regarded as the very best in his division, and a P4P top 5 fighter by my reckoning.
They both have the same promoter, but Hatton has real ambition. I really do think Hatton has self-belief that he can win this one. Whether he does or not is irrelevant, Judah and Mitchell were blown away, so whatever Hatton does, he can hold his head high and say 'I fought the best there was, and a future hall of famer.' Thought it's been a frustrating wait, I look forward to seeing Hatton take him on.
Warren has mentioned Lacy, but at the end of the day Calzaghe has to go and get in the ring against Lacy, and from the way it was worded, it seemed Warren was making it clear the ball was in Joe's court.

Calzaghe will not go to the States, he's had ample opportunity to do so in the past and never done it so why would he do so now aged 33. I hope het gets knocked out brutally, I really do.

It's quite possible Lacy will fight over there though, he's fought over here before on a showtime joint bill, and he's not averse to travelling. The only other stumbling block is money, which is where I can see negotiations breaking down.

I hope Lacy KO's him. People say it wont happen but if Lacy lands a left hook as flush as that right hand Salem landed then it will be lights out Sicknote without any shadow of a doubt. Salem cant crack an egg.

Look, Warren is putting Hatton in with Tzsyu. Hatton is his golden goose.
We must assume that Calzaghe does not want to fight top names for fear of losing.

The worrying this is how open Calzahge left himself for that shot. Unlike Salem, Lacy would pour it on after that. Salem fought very negatively despite having decked the shit out of Calzaghe.
I still think that provided he can summon the form of 18 months ago, Calzaghe is too good for Lacy. Lacy was given a struggle by Vanderpool, and in fact was hurt by him early on in the fight, Vaderpool made the mistake of standing and trading due to early success, and had he used his head more, may well have beaten Lacy on points.

Question is how far has Sicknote slipped. No live opponent for a long time, fighting very sporadically, injuries galore, punch resistance on the wane. He'll get KO'd eventually.

Warren is not paying him that, the Germans won the purse bids and he gets 75% of it which is approx £736,000.

FW has made a judgement call that a RH who loses closely ( or bravely - even better for the UK audience who love a brave loser ) is a better prospect than the diminishing returns of putting him in to steamroller Lightweights
Simple as that. shrewd, but let's not picture it as any sort of altruism to the fight fans. FW is a businessman and a bleeding good one. That informs every decision he takes and every fight he makes for his fighters

Agreed, however.....Calzaghe seems to be happy with the diminishing returns policy followed by retirement, I cannot see him fighting on all that much longer, and he's certainly not going to last long at his peak with his level of inactivity.
