Can anyone name any of the champions apart from Watson at Lightweight.

What is going on with this belt, seems to be dissapearing with out trace.

I actually (after some re-consideration) think that there is some kind of place for the Celtic and English title. The English title on the whole has been a success, but the Celtic title hasn't made the same inpact which I think is a tad unfair.

It would be nice maybe if the BBBoC can use these belts (English and Celtic) is some kind of way as an official eliminator. For example, after mandatory obligations are complete maybe the Celtic and English champions meet in an official eliminator for the British title.

I don't like the all of these "world" title belts, but I think the geniune stepping stone titles (like English for British, EU for EBU, and even the intercontinental belts for major world titles) can be beneficial if they used in the way they were original designed to. These international belts were designed for fighters ranked between 11-20 to get into the worlds top ten and if the fighter fulfilled the mandatory slots then within two year he would have worked his way to mandatory of the championship proper. I think the same applies for the EU belt and its relationship with the EBU title. This is good, it not only makes the fighter proud but gives the belt some value.

Should something similar be mooted with regards to both the Celtic and English title?

There is a problem with the Celtic title in that in some devisions the talent pool in the Celtic nations are particularly weak - but I think in the devision where it is not maybe the title should be held in a similar regard as the English title.

Totally agree stu. There is a lot of credibility in English, intercontinental even EU titles in that they boost ratings whilst being run by a 'credible' body from up above, with respectable ratings etc.

It would be nice if the Celtic title could be developed some more - last couple of fights in Scotland were'nt that great (with all due respect.) The English title is pretty much the sort of right of passage for many future British champs, and it would be interesting to have a celtic-English clash as some form of eliminator, as long as it's competitive and doesn't restrict anyone

I think it may be a good idea if the BBBoC banned all fake world titles from being contested in the UK, and elevated the Celtic/English title to an official eliminator for a British title eliminator, because if the fighter is fighting in an even matchup in a potentially small hall/undercard/small purse show, they deserve some sort of incentive for it. A mandated position in an eliminator would suffice, IMO.

A suggestion to improve the talent pool for the Celtic title. Maybe the foreign born fighter who are based in the UK and are eligable (through residency) to fight for the British title can be allowed to fight for the Celtic title as opposed to the English title?

Or do you think the fighters (mainly based in England) would not want that.

I don't think it is a particularly good suggestion, but it is a suggestion because some of the talent pool is a little weak in some devisions as things stand.

Kevin anderson is the champion aswell,, he won it few months ago

Yes, he did - He beat McIntyre. Thought it was for the Scottish belt.

Anderson vs Pryce in a defence would still be good.
