It's peculiar, but maybe he just doesn't follow the sport

Considering his last 6 fights have been

Dubois x2
AJ x2
Fury x2

I wouldn’t care if he fought Wilder next.

Would I prefer someone higher ranked? Yes.

But it’s his career. He’s already the GOAT of this era.

There will always be someone coming up. Torrez, Itauma and Ibeh are a fart in the wind comapred to Usyk anyway.

He did enough to call out whoever he wants.

I get what you're saying, but, if any fighter deserves a 'bum of the month' type opponent for a routine defence, it is him.

Usyk has done everything asked of him; facing Joshua, Fury and Dubois twice each and winning all is no mean feat.

That's also the consensus other top 2 of the division at the time, a mandatory defence and a undisputed unification who just dominated one of the previously consensus top 2. Not too much more anyone can do in that time.

- More like the OP is untutored. I don't see where he's called out anyone, but rather fighter mgrs are claiming to want him.

Usyk is at the one and done stage and will be royally compensated at a top venue. He's BIGGER than the crooks running Boxing...

Exactly. They haven't even beat a top 10 opponent yet.

As for the others, Wardley BARELY beat his last two opponents, credit for the wins but he's a level below Usyk. Kayabel is tough but also clearly a level below.

Same. He can fight who he wants. I wouldn’t care at this point if he got $100 million to beat up both Paul brothers at the same time. It’s not like there is a long line of top heavyweight contenders who have earned title shots

He oughta make 2026 a retirement tour where he beats up all the 8 to 15 ranked guys in the division, and then he's out :OhYes:

I know that you think Opetaia is the best fighter in the world, a fighter with one elite name on his record, so I can see the salty place of pain you're coming from when talking about Usyk.

He's fought more high profile fights from 2023 to now than any other big name in the sport.

Retarded to think he doesn’t follow the sport. Even more retarded to think he’s that out of touch with the sport that he calls out Chisora and Wilder because he knows no better .

When did he call out Chisora ?

He’s called out Wilder because his management team have seen an opportunity to make a voluntary defence, then looked at who makes them the most money. A Wilder fight in the US (more than likely) ticks financial boxes and also gives Usyk more US exposure.

The guy has had 375 contests over the last 23 years winning everything as both an amateur and a pro. He’s said in interviews boxing is like a drug to him that’s why he trains constantly and studies opponents and potential future opponents.
Hes always ringside at shows and im sure he was planning on opening a boxing academy in Ukraine. Safe to say he’ll be a follower of the sport !.

Look at what the bloke has done recently, he can fight who he likes. But personally I’d rather see a losing Parker get a bout than a winning wilder….depending how these p.ss tests turn out. Just think it’s more competitive. But winning fights has little to do with it. Parker had been winning for ages.
