Which man ranks higher pound for pound ?

It has to be Harry Greb. He had about 300 fights in a 13-year career. That's a lot of fights. Plus, he beat more world champions and hall of fame boxers.

Both were the best fighters of their generation. Greb was the best fighter of the 1920s. And Bob Fitzsimmons was the best fighter of the 1890s decade.

To put it simple. Greb was the better fighter. Ruby Robert was the better champion. Both to me, are top 15 all-time pound per pound great boxers.

You'd have to go with Greb.

As a Heavyweight, Fitz hit the higher heights, and his biggest payday was probably bigger than Greb's biggest payday, but Greb definitely beat more Hall of Fame opponents, and has more high profile wins.

To have a time machine, and be able to go back and see 'em both in action for about a Nickel sure would be something

Bob Fitzsimmons of England was the first triple crown world champion in boxing history. It was a great feat then, and still a great feat now. He beat the best champion from each weight class at middleweight, light-heavyweight and heavyweight.

Fitzsie became heavyweight king jumping from the Middleweight class and whupped the best heavyweight of his time, Gentleman James J. Corbett.

Also, Fitzsie is one of boxing's greatest knockout artists in history. He knocked out 57 fighters out of his 61 wins for an astonishing 93.4 KO percentage. Wow! The man could hit! He is definitely the greatest European fighter of all-time and the greatest British boxer in history.

Both fighters, Fitzsie and Greb, are top 15 all-time pound per pound. Deservedly so. No cap.

Greb for me but….imagine we have no footage of fitzimmons and he looked like Harry greb. Would he get into a lot of top ten p4p lists?

The fact that he looks like a bank manager and when you see the Corbett fight film they both look very unimpressive, does that count against him?

I don't even have Bob Fitzsimmons P4P the best of his era. Era 1 I have Sam Langford. Fitz is a top Guy but not competing with the top.

Greb vs Langford is a tough call. That's the top guy from Era 1 & Era 2 in my humble option.

Head to head I'm not sure who's winning that. They could certainly be the same fighting weight in the encounter.

Both these guys are top fighters in history.

Sam Langford's prime was in the 1900s, not 1890s. Bob Fitzsimmons was clearly the best fighter of his era, followed by the greats Joe Gans and Terry McGovern.
