It appears that Richards is fighting for the WBA interim vs Venezuelan puncher Ramirez on 5th FEBRUARY 2026. Ramirez is 22-0 with 19 kos. Richards has had one win at light heavy since being stopped by Steed Woodhall in a mild upset.

Never have I seen a fighter shoot himself in the foot so much by chopping and changing promoters

If he wins I hope he knuckles down. He lost a good few years by refusing to fight that Russian chap on a canelo show in that ibo defense. Silly move. Had a year out and was going to fight for an English title in a sports center. I don't know the specifics. Maybe he was being messed about behind the scenes but it's a waste as he's a real talent and had some nice wins and momentum. Hopefully he does the job and can have a fight with Richards or someone

Ramirez has looked to be a bit of a beast so far.

It feels like that since around 2010 Canada has had more top 175 fighters based there than anywhere else.

Could just be my imagination though.

You're right. They poach a lot of other talent as well. Do you think Lerrone will be found wanting?

I do. He might pull off an upset but I think he goes on the defensive & gets stopped, standing, late on.

The way Ramirez battered Pampelone was impressive.

Excellent boxer just now very watchable. Good look to him for the fight though. Who promotes him currently?
