WARRANT ISSUED FOR GERVONTA DAVIS IN CONNECTION TO DOMESTIC VIOLENCE ALLEGATIONS

The Miami Gardens Police Department announced at a news conference Wednesday that it issued an arrest warrant for Gervonta Davis related to an alleged domestic violence incident involving an ex-girlfriend late in October.

Emmanuel Jeanty, executive officer for the Miami Gardens PD, stated that the MGPD and the United States Marshals Service’s fugitive task force were working together to locate Davis, who resides in the Miami area.

Davis, 31, will be charged with battery, false imprisonment and attempted kidnapping because video surveillance footage allegedly corroborated Courtney Rossel’s account of what happened the night of October 27.

Rossel alleged Davis grabbed her by her head and throat and took her against her will out of Tootsie’s Cabaret, a Miami Gardens gentlemen’s club where she was employed as a VIP cocktail server. She claimed Davis dragged her out of the back exit and into a nearby parking garage, where he assaulted her.

Rossel filed a police report and a lawsuit against Davis soon thereafter.

Davis, a Baltimore native with a lengthy history of legal troubles, was eventually removed from a high-profile fight with Jake Paul due to these allegations. The WBA lightweight champion was scheduled to oppose Paul in a cruiserweight exhibition Netflix was to stream November 14 from Kaseya Center in Miami.

Rossel also alleged Davis abused her on several prior occasions during their five-month relationship, which she said ended about a month before October 27. She took legal action just two months after domestic violence charges involving another woman, the mother of two of Davis’ three children, were dropped.

Davis was previously imprisoned in his hometown of Baltimore in June 2023 for violating terms of his home detention sentence, the consequence of causing a hit-and-run accident in November 2020. He was released after spending 44 days in jail.

The troubled Davis (30-0-1, 28 KOs), one of boxing’s biggest stars in the United States, has fought just twice since he was released from jail in July 2023. The heavily favored Davis settled for a controversial majority draw with Lamont Roach in his last fight, which took place March 1 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

Civil attorney has ‘no idea’ where Gervonta Davis has gone

The arrest warrant issued for Gervonta Davis last week follows a failed separate search for him by the civil attorney representing the former three-division titleholder’s alleged victim.

“We have been attempting to obtain service of process [on Davis] and we are certain we will obtain service of process when Mr. Davis has been arrested,” Richard Wolfe, the attorney for a woman who previously sued Davis for alleged violent treatment that led Miami Gardens (Florida) police to seek him last week on counts of battery, false imprisonment and attempted kidnapping, told BS.

Asked where he suspects Baltimore’s Davis, 31, could be, Wolfe said: “No idea. We sent our process server to his house six times without success. We have filed a motion to allow an alternative service – when someone’s evading service – by publication. That’s set for hearing.”

The WBA responded to Davis’ legal trouble by labeling him a “champion in recess,” effectively stripping him of his lightweight belt so contenders such as top-ranked Floyd Schofield Jnr can fight for the strap.

Davis hasn’t fought since his controversial March 1 draw versus Lamont Roach Jnr, who was deprived of a knockdown call by referee Steve Willis. Davis’ domestic violence trouble caused both the planned Roach rematch and an exhibition against Jake Paul to be scrapped.

The civil attorney’s hunt for Davis and law enforcement’s attempt to locate him are separate matters.

Wolfe expressed confidence Davis will be brought to answer for his alleged crimes, including bruising the woman – whom he previously had a relationship with – during the October incident, when he allegedly grabbed her at her place of work, forced her to a parking garage and sought to drive her away before she fled.

The civil lawsuit damages being sought are unknown, because Florida allows alleged victims in such cases to file by noting that they are seeking in excess of $50,000.

“We attempted to resolve the matter without success, and we look forward to presenting our client’s testimony in court,” Wolfe said.

Gervonta Davis arrested in Florida on charges of false imprisonment and attempted kidnapping

Gervonta Davis has been arrested in Florida less than two weeks after Miami Gardens police issued an arrest warrant for him on counts of battery, false imprisonment and attempted kidnapping.

Davis, 31, was tracked down to the Miami Design District following a surveillance operation that spanned three counties and was taken into custody without incident as he left a retail store. Davis will be transported to Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Facility in Miami, Miami Gardens police say.

Davis, a Baltimore native who now lives in Florida, is a former three-division champion who last defended the WBA lightweight belt versus Lamont Roach Jnr at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center in March. He was stripped of the belt this month as the police hunt ensued.

Davis will likely soon enter a plea to a Miami-Dade County judge, and learn more about his legal calendar.

Richard Wolfe, the attorney for a woman suing Davis over the treatment alleged in documents supporting the arrest warrant, told BS Wednesday night that “we look forward to service and starting the process toward civil action, and prosecuting our civil case for damages.”

Documents reviewed by BS earlier this month revealed Davis is facing counts for his alleged October 27 abuse of the woman, physically injuring and threatening her after entering her workplace around 4:15 a.m.

“The victim stated that the subject [Davis] grabbed her by her hair with one hand and grabbed her by the throat with the other,” Miami Gardens police detective Gary Florencio told Miami-Dade County judge Andrea R. Wolfson last week.

“She further stated that [Davis] escorted her down the stairway and toward the VIP parking garage, while maintaining his grip on her head and neck. During the incident, [Davis] allegedly stated, ‘You think that I would not find you?’”

The woman, whose name was redacted in documents reviewed by BS, told police she has known Davis since 2022 and was in a relationship with him for five months.

“She stated the relationship ended one month prior to the incident,” Judge Wolfson wrote in the statement of facts in support of the arrest warrant. “She subsequently blocked all forms of communication with him. [She] advised there is a history of unreported domestic violence between them.

“[She] stated she sustained minor injuries, including bruising to her left arm, from when [Davis] grabbed her, which was visible at the time of the report. She confirmed she sought medical attention for her injuries.”

During the incident, police said the woman “tried to calm [Davis] down, but he kept asking her who she thought she was ignoring him. [Davis] told [the woman] she was leaving him and he did not care what she had to say,” after she previously ended the relationship.

As they neared the parking garage, Davis told the woman he was taking her with him, she told police, and she warned him there were cameras in the garage, police said. When Davis let her go to retrieve his vehicle, the woman “took this opportunity to run back inside and tell her manager what had happened,” according to the arrest warrant statement.

“She also showed me text messages she had received in the past from [Davis] threatening her with death,” Detective Florencio informed the judge.

Davis was in trouble earlier this year in another domestic violence episode that led to the scrapping of his planned summer rematch against Roach Jnr and then a lucrative exhibition versus Jake Paul planned for December was scrapped as a result of this case.

Gervonta Davis is reportedly being sought by Maryland law enforcement for an alleged probation violation, stemming from his arrest earlier this year in Miami on domestic violence charges. If arrested, Davis will be held without bond.

GERVONTA DAVIS ALLEGEDLY VIOLATED PROBATION, WANTED IN MARYLAND

Gervonta Davis reportedly is wanted by police after he allegedly violated the terms of his probation.

A warrant for Davis’ arrest, issued on April 24 by Baltimore Circuit Judge Althea M. Handy, stems from accusations that he attacked his ex-girlfriend at a strip club in Miami Gardens, Florida, in October of last year.

Davis' alleged actions, the judge ruled, violated his probation for a 2020 hit-and-run conviction.

Handy initially issued a warrant on February 2 but recalled it eight days later after Davis’ attorney convinced her that the boxer would cooperate. She then issued the second warrant, which Davis’ lawyers again challenged. However, their motion was denied on May 22.

Davis was arrested on January 28 in Miami by the Miami Gardens Police Department and the U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force after an arrest warrant for the alleged domestic violence was issued on January 14.

On October 30, Davis' ex-girlfriend Courtney Rossel filed a civil lawsuit in Miami-Dade County, accusing Davis of aggravated battery, false imprisonment, kidnapping, and intentional infliction of emotional distress. Rossel said the incident occured on October 27 at Tootsie’s Cabaret, a Miami gentlemen’s club where she was employed as a VIP cocktail server.

Rossel alleged that Davis grabbed her by her head and throat, took her against her will out of the nightclub, and dragged her out of the back exit and into a nearby parking garage, where he assaulted her.

After the arrest, Davis posted an $8,500 bond and was ordered not to have any contact with Rossel.
As for the 2020 hit-and-run incident – one of several run-ins with the law that Davis has had in recent years – he received 90 days of house arrest, three years of probation and 200 hours of community service after pleading guilty in 2023. Davis later spent nearly six weeks in jail in 2023 for violating the terms of his home detention.

Handy extended Davis’ probation in March of last year by 18 months after unauthorized travel, another probation violation.

Davis (30-0-1, 28 KOs), the WBA lightweight champion, last fought to a majority draw with Lamont Roach Jr. in March of last year.

Davis was supposed to take on Jake Paul in December but was pulled from the contest once Rossel's allegations surfaced.

Tank in Trouble: Arrest warrant issued for Gervonta "Tank" Davis

Gervonta Davis’ interest in returning to the boxing ring remains clouded by his legal troubles.

On a day it was reported that Davis is wanted on a signed arrest warrant in his home state of Maryland for his video-recorded physical confrontation with a former domestic partner in Florida, the civil attorney on that case says he’s poised to have Davis “hauled in” to court for overdue financial assets.

“Effective this week, we can bring him to court,” the attorney, Richard Wolfe, told BS Wednesday. “My case is damages, punitive damages .. his punishment has to be commensurate with his net worth.

“And we feel anyone looking at the video would say, ‘He’s a thug, I’m going to punish him.’”

Something like that clearly occurred in Maryland, where TMZ first reported a Baltimore judge last month reviewed the Florida criminal and civil case against the unbeaten, three-division champion Davis 30-0-1 (28 KOs) and ruled the boxer violated the rules of his probation connected to a hit-and-run crash that injured multiple people in 2020.

Davis confronts felony kidnapping and misdemeanor battery counts for his treatment of the Florida woman, with the video showing him forcibly directing her out of her work space down stairs to a parking garage, where she escaped.

The warrant means Davis would be subject to arrest if law enforcement officers find him in Maryland.

Just this week, the WBA ruled former full lightweight champion Davis must meet top contender Floyd Schofield Jnr, but a boxing official connected to the situation said no talks of substance on that matter have transpired.

Davis hasn’t fought since his March 1, 2025, draw against former super-featherweight champion Lamont Roach Jnr in New York.

Civil attorney Wolfe said Davis has more pressing concerns in court.

“At the end of the day, he’s going to be sitting in front of a jury of six people – a typical Dade County jury,” Wolfe said. “I believe they will feel for my client and write down a number [for damages owed].

“And no one on earth can predict what that number will be.”

Throw away the key.
Keep the animal behind bars permanently. He's got opportunities that some people can only dream of, and rather than focus on boxing he focuses on being a VIOLENT THUG.

Throw the key away.
