Shannon Courtenay and Elizabeth Oshoba added to April 5 MVP card

Five more fights have been added to the all-women’s line-up for Most Valuable Promotions’ UK launch card.


Boxing Scene has confirmed that Shannon Courtenay, 10-3 (3 KOs), will anchor the preliminary undercard in her second fight under the MVP banner. The former 118lbs titlist will face Nottingham’s Sasha Booker, 3-1, in a scheduled eight-round 115lbs contest.

The bout is part of a five-fight lead-in undercard airing live on Sky Sports on April 5 from the famed Olympia in London. Co-headlining the show are a pair of unification bouts – Caroline Dubois-Terri Harper for lightweight supremacy and Ellie Scotney-Mayelli Flores for the undisputed 122lbs crown.

Also to be featured is the MVP debut of highly touted former amateur standout Elizabeth Oshoba, 9-0 (5 KOs). The undefeated 26-year-old from Lagos, Nigeria will take on Hull’s Chelsey Arnell, 5-2-1 (0 KOs), in a featherweight bout scheduled for six three-minute rounds.

“Our first UK event is stacked with four world-title fights and eight belts at stake, delivering a historic night for women’s boxing in Britain on Sunday, April 5,” MVP co-founders Jake Paul and Nakisa Bidarian told BS in a provided joint-statement.

“Shannon Courtenay returns to fight in front of her home fans, Elizabeth Oshoba is positioned to announce herself as a future world champion in her MVP debut. It all builds toward an incredible double main event live on Sky Sports.”

The other three bouts to be featured in preliminary action are Tysie Gallagher, 10-2 (0 KOs), in her MVP debut versus Finland’s Teresa Makinen, 5-0 (0 KOs), in an eight-round junior-featherweight contest, the lightweight Gemma Richardson, 2-0 (1 KO), over six rounds with Czech journeywoman Johana Rochi, 6-6-1 (2 KOs), , and Arjon Basi, 2-0 (0 KOs) awaits an assigned opponent.

“I’m excited to be fighting at home in London and even more excited to be back on Sky Sports where it all started for me,” said Courtenay, whose early years with Matchroom Boxing were also carried on Sky. “All my knockouts and my world-title win happened on Sky Sports so it feels like a good omen to be back where I was at my best.”

I'll watch but it'll be 5-10 years before it's as good as a mens card.

Don't see why it would be PPV.

Will probable be show in Sports Mix/Showcase as well so anyone with a Sky Sub can watch it.

Wouldn't even be shocked if they put the whole card live and free via the Sky Sports youtube channel.

Dubois-Harper, Valle-Kuroki approved for vacant Ring titles in April

The Ring will crown two new champions next month.

Having announced a new global platform for women's boxing last week, Most Valuable Promotions' MVPW-01 card at London's Olympia features four world championship contests - two with Ring belts up for grabs.

Ring and unified junior featherweight champion Ellie Scotney seeks undisputed status at 122 pounds.

She'll look to complete the set facing WBA beltholder Mayelli Flores after recovering from a back injury, making the third defence of her Ring title.

Scotney's gymmate Caroline Dubois gets what she's been calling for since January 2025 in a WBC, WBO lightweight title unification against Terri Harper with the added distinction of a vacant Ring championship belt too.

Dubois (12-0-1, 5 KOs) is The Ring's No. 1-ranked fighter at 135 pounds, Harper (16-2-2, 6 KOs) is rated third.

IBF beltholder Elif Nur Turhan (13-0, 8 KOs) is sandwiched between them at No. 2, having made the first defense of her crown with a 10-round split decision win over Taylah Gentzen on the Bakhram Murtazaliev-Josh Kelly undercard January 31.

Dubois told The Ring's Declan Taylor of her desire to unify against Matchroom-backed Turhan at some stage in 2026, assuming she prevails against Doncaster's three-weight world champion Harper in the first week of April.

The 12-member panel voted unanimously to award this belt in their all-Brit battle, as well as Yokasta Valle vs. Yuko Kuroki later in the month.

Valle-Kuroki is slated for April 18 in Las Vegas, though nothing has been announced by a lead promoter at the time of publication.

Costa Rica's Valle (34-3, 10 KOs), another three-weight world champion, has a chance to win The Ring title two years after falling short against undisputed queen Seniesa Estrada, who retired from the sport seven months later.

She'll face Japan's former WBA titleholder Yuko Kuroki (25-9-2, 10 KOs) next, who lost a contentious 10-round split decision in her unification with WBO strawweight champion Sarah Bormann (21-1, 7 KOs) on October 18.

German-based Italian junior middleweight Piergiulio Ruhe manages Bormann and told The Ring: "We have no problem if Yokasta goes to box Yuko, they can fight for the Ring Magazine title without any issue."

The 30-year-old confirmed the titleholder is nursing a small injury keeping her from training and wouldn't have been ready for a WBC/WBO unification on the division's premier-rated player's timeline.

Tickets seem about 60-65% sold (or allocated), looking at the seat map.

Honestly expected it to be less. Not seen much hype around this event.

Scotney and Cameron are two of the best female boxers about, probably both top 10 p4p but Cameron is in one of those stupid fights where she’s taking a World title fight way above her actual weight knowing it’s a cert win just for the sake of saying ‘I’m in a World title fight.’

Dubois v Harper is ok in as much as we know both boxers well. Dubois has gone from sitting like the silent kid to talking crap and it’s annoying everyone as it doesn’t suit her. She tried it with Baumgardner in the American fight she had and Baumgardner just shut her down in a way which was hilarious to watch. Harper has never come across as hugely confident in the chat department so Dubois has been given free rein to say all sorts of rubbish. Obviously I’m sure most of us want Harper to pull it off.

While I don't rate many women fights, we do have a good crop following KT, Cameron, Scotney, Dubois, and the Welsh girl are all good fighters
