Floyd Mayweather announces return to professional boxing

Floyd Mayweather has announced plans to return to professional boxing this summer ahead of his spring exhibition against Mike Tyson
'Money' last competed in a professional bout in August 2017, scoring a stoppage win over then-UFC champion Conor McGregor.

He will be 49 next week. The only people who want to see him back are the ones who want to see him lose.
I have no interest in seeing him fight.

always about money when it involves....money could really damage that legacy his massive ego telling him hes still got , cant see him being rusty or rubbish but hes not going to be as sharp as he was obviously

He isn't going to fight someone 20 years younger than him and get embarrassed by an opponent who isn't half the fighter he was, for chump change.
He's going to be fighting a similarly aged opponent and that can only mean Pacquiao.

Since they are both doing exhibitions in April it seems a real bout between the 2 will happen later this year. Does anyone here think Mayweather will actually fight a current champion? Maybe Ryan Garcia ?

It'd be awesome for Pac to get the W over Floyd in a rematch. It would defeat the argument that Floyd was better than him simply for having an 0 on his record, which already isn't much of one, but Floyd having an 0 on his record and a win over Pac is a better one.
If Pac gets the win back, Floyd doesn't really have anything on him.

I don't think so, the first one was a letdown and I don't anyone who's bothered about watching it.

Floyd is not broke he has a lot of real estate assets - he might have a cash crunch and a couple fights fixes that obviously
He will never put himself in a position to lose. He wont fight pacquiao - he will fight someone like jake paul or de la hoya, someone he can get paid and have no chance of losing

I'd still rank Pacquiao ahead of Mayweather in an all time P4P sense even if Mayweather beats him for a 2nd time honestly, but I know the general public may not feel that way.
As a whole he has the edge on Mayweather as far as big fights, and big wins against Elite level competition, but we have to take into account that even in their 1st bout Manny was in his 7th weight class while Floyd was in his 4th. Floyd is the naturally bigger man than Manny by quite a bit.
Manny had already had a Hall of Fame career before he ever fought his 1st fight in the Welterweight division.

It's fair to think Pacquiao is the better P4P fighter, I just don't agree that Floyd has nothing over Manny except for the "0". He beat him clearly, was the more technically complete fighter, and handled elite opponents without taking the kind of damage Manny did.
Pacquiao did climb more weightclasses and that's an incredible feat, but Mayweather is at least as great with what he did in 5 weightclasses.
