All time or currently? Buffer is the GOAT but he makes mistakes nearly every night now. Still has the voice but doesn't have the presence or composure he once did

Diamanté says all sorts.

From the 4 corners of the world to the 4 corners of the ring.. bla bla..

Lennon has a propa radio voice. Always liked his announces.

Buffer will always be GOAT’d but he’s been passed his ‘best before date’ for 2 decades.

Big Mo from QP is decent: does he have a catchphrase though?

DD should be nowhere near this list. All the repeating the surname malarkey.

Even Kev, Bev, Kev was better than him.

Do you remember when there big arguments on here about DD feigning his motorbike accident injuries!

Repeating the surname is just nostalgic

Jimmy Lennon Jr is by far the class act of the field - understated, low key perfection hitting just the right note

All the rest of them to varying degrees want to be the star of the show with their absurd catch phrases and cringeworthy over the top delivery

Diamanté is surely borderline narcissistic personality disorder. I kind of respect his saying the surnames twice routine as that’s a genuine throwback to the olden days but that small nugget of quality is far outweighed by the rest of his over excited schtik …… four corners ? the world’s round David mate

Surely you've heard someone mention the four corners of the earth before?!

No discussion of ring announcers should ever take place without reference to John Macdonald

I mean the thread and the poll is asking for ‘favourite’

Not best:

Is anyone actually nostalgic for having surnames said twice?

Come on - it’s just annoying!

Buffer was my favourite as a teenager, but as an adult it’s definitely Lennon Jr.

Being around John Macdonald is like being around Bob Monkhouse.

There’s a joke every two seconds!

Current: Buffer.
All time: Chuck Hull by a country mile. Simple, clear and immaculate.

Lennon is the least flamboyant but just gets the job done.

Hahahaha beat me to it!

"Now our boxers, introducing Paul....RrrrrrrrrAAAIIIR!

And in the other corner, with a record of 22 wins and 6 losses, he is also the British champion. *Forgets to say Dodson's name*. Now here we go!"

Hahahaha you couldn't make this stuff up.

Jimmy Lenon Jr is my favourite all time.

In terms of British MCs Michael Pass was the best for me. He was really really good. I think he was too expensive so they stopped using him after a while in the 2000s but he was a cut above anyone on the British scene for me. Consumate professional.

What was the Australian ring announcer called who used really long words in his announcements?

John McDonald must have simply not put their names on his cue cards - he must have been going in his head "oh he's Paul.... what's his name" - and when he went to Dodson - you could get by his voice he was thinking "oh I have no idea who he is".

There was that really camp American one - not in the league of Jimmy Lennon, but used to do a lot of ESPN shows.

"this lovely gentlemen" - "this fine young man"
