I've watched a lot of these fights recently. Holyfield was matched particularly tough for his debut.

I was sitting ringside with the announcers, as I was the AP and statistician for the fights. It was a terrific night, and the fighters were matched pretty tough for their initial professional outings.

Was Virgil Hill vrs Arthur Wright the first fight on the card that evening ?
(I can't find any footage of it on youtube).
I think this may have been the second fight that night.

the first fight of the evening-Virgil Hill vrs Arthur Wright was not televised on the show (for some reason)
possibly because Virgil Hill had won a Silver medal at the 1984 Olympics
I'm thinking because he did not sign with Lou Duva and or Shelly Finkel for Main Events Inc.
Lou Duva and Finkel had been the co-managers of Whitetaker, Taylor and Biggs,
and Finkel was sole manager of Mark Breland.
(Evander Holyfield had his own manager in Atlanta but hired Shelly Finkel was an advisor and Duva as a trainer)
