What do you think of Dana White in boxing
Is he good for us ?
I think based off personality, Eddie Hearn has the edge on him and does more work around the world to promote boxing.

I think in 5 or 10 years time he will have abandoned his Boxing Promotion aspirations after losing a lot of money.

I don't really get how their paying Conor Benn 15 Mil for the Prograis fight was in any way beneficial for them, and that's just 1 mistake. Their key issue is gonna be an inability to sign the big names i think, and it seems as if almost all other major Boxing promoters have kinda united against Zuffa Boxing.

I think Dana is way more knowledgeable on Boxing than Rogan. Rogan has admitted before he knows very little and cares very little about Boxing while Dana has been seen numerous times watching live boxing streams while sat Octagon-side at his own events and even choosing to attend boxing events over UFC events. He was into boxing well before he knew the UFC existed. I don't think he's an expert by any means but he's definitely got more than Rogan.

His and Rogan's knowledge in MMA is significantly different too. Obviously Dana knows tonnes about the business side of things and the athletes but he almost never discussed anything technical about what goes on inside the ring or in the gym. Rogan has trained for years and knows a lot about that, just maybe not as much as he tried to make people believe.

Now other boxers know that Zuffa have $15m to waste on names like Benn, it could attract them? It's a long shot but if it's truly a one fight contract without anything following it up, they have to be doing something like that otherwise it's awful business.

I agree that paying a slightly above average boxer like Benn $15m for one fight does create a lot of headlines and gets people talking about the sport, but I can't help but wonder what the planned ROI is on such a gambit? Surely that money could have been spread out among several talented and more deserving boxers with an upside to bring Zuffa Boxing more positive exposure. Unless, of course, they're operating under the old Hollywood adage that there's no such thing as bad publicity.

I see Zuffa trying to push boxing into an MMA-styled business model, but I'm not sure it will ultimately succeed. Boxing has existed for a long time with a much longer track record - good, bad and otherwise - than MMA, so it will be difficult to get rid that entrenched standard. However, maybe this move can be the impetus to initiate some changes for the betterment of the sport.

However, I get the sense their endeavor is going to end up like Michael Johnson's recent Grand Slam Track series in track and field (athletics). It started out with great fanfare, signed some big name talents, and generated a lot of optimism, but ultimately fizzled under the weight of bloated financial obligations that it couldn't meet.

In my opinion, Dana White could shake things up in boxing, but his style might not fully fit the sport. Eddie Hearn still feels more proven globally.

He's watched it opposed to hearing or reading about it

Would Dana White and UFC have been considered part of the Mayweather vs McGregor fight? If so that's the biggest matchup so far.

Since the launch of Zuffa Boxing I suppose the biggest has been Jai Opetaia's bout with Brandon Glanton since it was at least for a major World Title.

Lots of competitive matchmaking so far on the Zuffa cards I'll give 'em that. Most bouts don't have a clear favorite.
