Both will come up fighting and landing bombs. Chuvallo will take it, Cooney will not. Chuvallo stoppage inside 5

George Chuvalo had the better chin by far. Chuvalo by knockout in the 12th round.

Cooney would used his long reach with his jab, land right hands and left hooks on the body and head to stop Chuvalo on his feet in 5 rounds.

This is an excellent, competitive match, and it's not easy to pick a winner. Cooney could use his big height and reach advantage, and chapping lefts, to outpoint Chuvalo handily. But - as others have indicated - George was far more durable than Cooney, had a good punch, and might hurt Big Gerry more than vice verse.
Cooney's heavy power gets mitigated by Chuvalo's granite chin. And, at the penultimate moment, Cooney lacks the whiskers to withstand George's bombs.
Chuvalo wins by stoppage sometime after the 8th, but Cooney probably dominates early.

If Cooney faced a past prime Chuvalo from the post Ali rematch, Cooney would mow Chuvalo down and stop him on his feet like Cooney did with the past prime Young, Lyle and Norton.

I think this is how it goes as well give or take a few rounds, but I'd also favor the much bigger and stronger Cooney to stop Chuvalo on his feet.

I'm surprised you guys think Cooney would overpower and stop Chuvalo.
Think about it: Cooney, at 225 lbs., wasn't much bigger, in physical mass, than Chuvalo, who weighed 215 lbs. And, it's questionable - even doubtful - that Cooney was stronger, given than George was renowned for his physical strength.
Gerry did have an overwhelming height advantage, at 6'6" vs 6'0". Cooney's reach was at least eight inches longer. But does that translate into overwhelming physical advantages? I don't think so.
Did Cooney really having the wrecking-ball power of George Foreman? That's the key question. My opinion is that Cooney was not in Foreman's league as a puncher. The reality about Gerry's punch is mundane compared to the myth.
That's why I don't think Gerry would overpower and stop Chuvalo. George might take a beating, but he'd weather Cooney's bombs.

It's not Cooney's power that I expect to beat Chuvalo so much as his reach and his jab. Cooney's a big f*cking guy, and a tall man's jab can be a tough thing to get past when you're just a crude slugger who's strategy is to take more punishment, and be tougher in every fight.

It's Cooney's hook an uppercut that persuade me he eats up George C.
