If a fighter agrees to fight the champion and to
Be honest the challenger is viewed as canon fodder. But just in case the challenger has to fight the champion in the champions backyard.
You wont believe it ... the champion got absolutely obliterated, comprehensively stuffed.
Wait for it ... the champion has decided to envoke a rematch clause...
How long does it take for the rematch to take place?
I am truly disgusted at whats happening!!!

It's usually a contracted timeframe isn't it. Is something on particular prompting this?

I don’t know why you’re disgusted. It seems perfectly normal.
It’s been just over 4 months since Simpson & Williamson fought.
Dubois flattened AJ in September 2024, it wasn’t while April 25 that he decided not to trigger the rematch so Dubois fought Usyk again in July.
Dubois waited 7 months.
The Lewis Rahman rematch was 7 months after the first.
The Warrington - Lara rematch was also 7 months after the first.
After Sanders knocked Wlad Klitschko out it took 13 months for him to fight Vitali. That was one of them if you beat my brother you have to fight me contracts that they used.
The only one that I can think of that was really quick was the Wood-Lara rematch. It was just over 3 months later. The cynical part of me wonders if it was because they got wind of all the partying Lara was doing.

In the overall scheme of things, four months certainly isn't all that long. However, on the flip side, Williamson missed out on a potential world title shot, had to give up his European title without an opportunity to defend it, and then didn't get to take part in a very-winnable fight with Zachenhuber, who was undefeated and highly ranked at the time. And the rematch has only been talked about, with nothing yet scheduled.
