DAVE ALLEN TO RETURN JUNE 20!

Dave Allen has announced he will return to the ring following his defeat to Filip Hrgovic on June 20 in Rotherham!

Allen confirmed the fight will be fought over either 4 or 6 rounds

It’s the same crap with Allen. lose to known name then fight in a 6/8 round against a nobody and then back to a decent name again it is rinse and repeat

If Dave doesn’t believe he can beat Riakporhe then I’m not sure what he’s carrying on for.

No doubt he’ll be back up to 270 for the June fight.

There's a lot bigger statement than that and he's doing half price tickets and a free drink for anyone who went on Saturday. Saturday looks to have done his head in now he's had time to reflect.

It's one thing not to be able to win at the Top level, many guys can't do that, but he's not even able to compete at the top level at all.

I have no issue with Dave continuing to fight on, and make a living, but don't ever try to sell us Dave Allen against an even semi big name opponent again because there's no reason to believe he's anything except an Allen brand punching bag.

Maybe that would be a good business idea for him? Make some punching bags with his name and face on them, and sell 'em as training equipment that way he can quit being the bag.

I don’t think you should be allowed to fight if your corner throw the towel less than 4 months ago (or stopped in any way)…. But that’s just my view.

When I first read the title I was thinking 2026 was next year, and so figured he'd had an epiphany and decided to properly commit to maximising himself. Wouldn't even need to spar, just strength, diet and fitness to make the 230s and belatedly unlock his best version.

I stand by Dave being a chance vs Zhang. Not a favorite but a live dog.

Zhang is 43, hasn’t won in 2 years and even that was a faded wilder. Dosent like it to the body and has had some stamina issues, things I wouldent expect to improve with aging and inactivity.

Scary puncher no doubt, but at least I can see a possibility of Dave beating him. I couldn’t really see that with hrg (aside from cuts).

Pretty sure you could be out of gas against Dave and still beat him with a decent jab.

ya pricey and big mak both had stamina issues, neither had to work hard enough to tire out vs dave's slow pace

and while fair point about zhang's age .... he's been 10-12 rounds many times, vs better guys than dave. his stamina isnt that bad that he cant last fights

You know , boxing is getting quite boring now , its becoming a rehash of old tired names.. Allen, Chisora, Whyte , and even to an extent Fury and AJ , and pisstake grab for ppv ,

Who's to blame , surely there are better boxers , more exciting up and comers somewhere , just waiting for the chance to become stars , , we have Moses dd in the heavyweights , throw in a couple of others and the fights are there , yet promoters waste there money on Allen and Chisora , couple of tired old punchbags who i doubt even train properly anymore ,, You have them investing in Whittaker a obnoxious lair who sprouts about his great future yet is getting to the too old stage already . .

I personally don't believe boxing is in the great shape a lot say it is , i think its dying , slowly but never the less dying just the same , these promoters need to start investing in the lower weights with 50-50 fights happening and see who starts to shine ,, Jeez it shows how bad its become when Benn with his lack of serious talent , just an attitude and an ego can go and become such a big name

It's definitely gonna be boring over the months of June, July and August. For whatever reason the Summer months are usually dull in Boxing. Which is fine by me because that's usually the time I dive deeper into my other hobbies.

Bizarre fight to schedule less than a month after getting stopped in the third round against a world level contender. Surely the Hrgovic fight means he could rest for a few months. It's not like he'll get paid much to face a 6-33 opponent on a month's notice and his head took a few too many punches already a few weeks ago.

He's paying to fight. He just wants the Hrg fight out of his system. It seems to have really bothered him. Doesn't want to get too big again, either.
