For once, my prediction of a Draw is what I would go with.

Harlem Eubank confirms next fight, David Papot awaits in London on July 18

Harlem Eubank will take on David Papot at the Copper Box Arena, London, on July 18 in a welterweight 12-rounder.

Papot, from France, represents a solid test for Eubank, 22-1 (9 KOs). Though the southpaw was outpointed last time out by Liam Paro over 12 rounds last year, he stopped Josh Wagner in seven rounds late in 2024. Wagner, of course, lasted the full 10 with Eubank 12 months later.

That points victory over Wagner saw Brighton, England's Eubank bounce back from a technical decision loss to Jack Catterall who, like Papot, is a southpaw. And it is at Catterall's level where Eubank, ranked 15th by the IBF at 147lbs, has long believed he belongs.

The only other blot on the 30-1-1 (5 KOs) Papot's record came in 2019 when he was held to a draw by James "Buddy Jnr" McGirt.

Eubank-Papot will be promoted by Misfits Pro and be broadcast on DAZN.

Papot is definitely better than his record might suggest. Going the distance with Paro and only having one loss and one draw on his record tells you he's awkward and durable.

I still lean Eubank by decision, though. Fighting at home and having already shared the ring with someone at Catterall's level should help him edge a competitive fight on the cards.

In a press release, Gladius CEO Oliver Hickey said this technology will dramatically change the way in which we consume combat sports.

Irrespective of the technology being used, Eubank must remain focused on Papot, who comes off a competitive points defeat to former world champion Liam Paro.

The event, which is a joint promotion between MF Pro and Neilson Boxing, will also see Kieran Molloy and Sean Noakes collide in another intriguing welterweight contest.

Sean Noakes ready to pick up where he left off in Molloy meeting

This time last year, Sean Noakes seemed ready for lift off.

The unbeaten 31-year-old from Kent was in a rich vein of form and just weeks removed from a second defense of his English welterweight title. Most impressively his performances were improving, along with the opposition level.

Suddenly, life got in the way. Noakes had to prioritize his family life and has spent the past year treading water, but is ready for a return to serious work.

On July 18, Noakes (12-0, 5 KOs) will fight Ireland's highly-rated hopeful Kieran Molloy (14-0, 7 KOs). Their 10-round contest will take place at London's Copper Box Arena on the Harlem Eubank-David Papot undercard, live exclusively on DAZN.

“I’ve just gotta move on with it now. A few months ago I was flying, everything was going good. I’d barely lost a round and had a good amount of stoppages. Now it’s just about building back up again,” Noakes told The Ring.

“I wasn’t able to fight and that put me behind the schedule. I've had a couple of keep-busy fights just to keep me ticking over and now I’m back in the mix.”

The in-form Molloy represents a tough test but is exactly the type of opponent that can get people talking about Noakes again. It's precisely the kind of fight the four-year pro is in the sport for, too.

Noakes’ younger brother is The Ring’s No.7 lightweight Sam and the pair have always had a highly competitive relationship. The collective love of a challenge and determination to win came to the fore when his boxing apprenticeship ended, as he began to be matched with others capable of beating him.

Back in July 2024, Noakes stepped up several levels to box Inder Bassi on the Derek Chisora-Joe Joyce undercard. He thrived under the pressure, while the 10-round decision win gave him confidence and belief which propelled him to title defenses over previously-undefeated Mathew Rennie and Jermaine Osborne Edwards.

“When we play family games, even quiz games, me and my brother are mad competitive,” he said.

“I’m not in here to duck and dive around people. We need to get in there, win and make a statement.

“I think it's a mix of things. When you know you’ve got someone of a bit better caliber, you train that bit harder and when it comes to fight night, you use yourself that little bit more.

“It’s like when I boxed Rennie [then 14-0-1, 1 KO], people said it’s a tough fight... he's a good, unbeaten kid. I think it gets you hungrier in the gym and you push yourself a bit harder.”

Molloy’s last four opponents have had winning records and he got 10 valuable rounds under his belt against the Netherlands’ Xavier Kohlen but none will have brought the same intensity or determination as Noakes.

Noakes accepts that Molloy is the in-form fighter but also believes that he is the more experienced between them.
“I’d say he’s where I was after I beat Bassi,” Noakes said in previewing his latest assignment.

“He’s had one good, credible opponent. I wouldn’t say his opponent was as good as Bassi. I feel like I’ve had the better opposition and am better tested over 10 rounds.

“The momentum is with him. He’s been busier than I have at the minute and I’m looking forward to getting in there, winning this fight and making a good statement again.”

Putrid performance vs Catterall. Harlem shouldn't be getting main event slots on TV.

Papot's record isn't the worst in all fairness but apart from Catterall, Eubank continues to fight nondescript Europeans, if he's not gonna step up at least give us a domestic dust up, I've never heard of Papot let alone seen him but this is 12 round snoozer certified

This clutch of Fury's, Eubank's and Benn's would struggle to achieve much in life if not for their name.
Must be frustrating for more talented boxers who don't have that privelege.

Big names might lie ahead for Harlem Eubank-David Papot winner

Harlem Eubank knows that to fulfil his fighting dreams, he will have to been Frenchman David Papot.

They fight on Saturday at the Copper Box in London on DAZN, and Eubank is 22-1 (9 KOs) and, last time out, defeated Jake Wagner as he rebounded from the sole loss of his career, to Jack Catterall.

“You have to look to fight the guys, the others don’t want to fight if you want to become world champion,” the 31-year-old from Brighton, England, said. “And Papot is of that ilk, he is world championship class, but that is what I am prepared to overcome.

“I hope he comes like he says he will, and brings the fight because that is exactly what I am going to do. And if that is the case then do not blink.”

Papot is 30-1-1 (5 KOs) and, in his last two fights, stopped Wagner and then lost a decision to Australia’s two-weight champion Liam Paro.

“After my fight with Liam Paro in Australia, I needed another big fight and fighting a Eubank, in London, is just that,” he said.
“There is a lot of pressure on Harlem, he has everything to lose and I have everything to gain. And when you are the main event, live on DAZN, you cannot run, you have to come and fight.”

Eubank, No. 14 with the IBF at welterweight, is promoted by MF Pro, and Nisse Sauerland said: “We picked David Papot because he was the toughest opponent we could get. Harlem wants to test himself and this is an eliminator for a world title. There’s Liam Paro, the winner of [Rolly] Romero and Teofimo [Lopez] or the winner of [Ryan] Garcia and [Conor] Benn. And all of these fights are live on DAZN, the global home of boxing.”
