Jesus

How much time should a world class boxer be spending in pubs anyway?

A man of his status shouldn't be misbehavin in pubs anyway.

A recent WBO world Champion from North of the Border was reported to have been locked in a pub overnight, bollock naked on top of the pool table less than a week before a title fight.

Nice training programme.

This guy is an absolute twat.

I hope he gets KO'd in brutal fashion.

Well, we all know he's limited in terms of skill.
If he doesn't have that extra discipline to make the most of his limited skills, then it's offical: he's going nowhere.

March and Columbia are allegedly involved.

Maybe people just give him a load of hassle. Beating up on a world champion would be seen as a scalp for local thugs

Jacobs didnt win a world title, Weir is the only WBO belt holder from Scotland I can think of. Any more?

Looks like he'll be going to prison sooner or later... he won't get away with that type of behaviour in Spain... the man is a total disgrace and prat...

I personaly think that judges should treat licensed boxers more harshly as when people are trained how to punch them getting in a fight is tantimount to assult with a wheppon.

Didn't Mark Krence get in some bother for throughing a Kabab at a police officer not so long ago.

Pains me to say it but I see shades of the Calzaghe seeping through in Scott. How about calling it 'WBO Syndrome'.

BTW, J, try replacing the last 'e' with the first 'a' and drop the last 'a' altogether. 'glasgae' is rather... well... gae.   :TU:

Didnt Maloney call Harrison the greatest Scottish boxer ever?

What a load of old bollocks.

Sounds like something Maloney would say. The bloke is a cock.

For god's sake, it's just hype, what do you expect a fighters manager to say?

"Well, he's not really genuine world class, good enough for the WBO belt, but I wouldn't put him in with the likes of Barrera, Morales or Marquez unless it was for a retirement fund level purse."

You can't slate the bloke for hyping his fighter, it's just part of the business that's all. I think it's a bit much personally.

Say what you like about Maloney, but the bloke guided Lennox Lewis to the world heavyweight title, you don't do that if you're a cock. He's a bloody resourceful bloke, sure, I take what he says with a pinch of salt, but he's done a lot of good for boxing in his time in my opinion.

But its killing British Boxing!!!! Us hardcore fans know what the crack is, but us alone arent going to keep boxing in the mainstream, we need the general public to engage. And they will when they see good fighters put in good fights and NOT by some poison dwarf spouting shite.

The thing with Maloney's style is that the public get taken in a few times and then think 'bollocks to this'. They soon realise that they are being had. Proof of this is Glasgow, they have now turned their back on big time boxing having initially come out in their droves. In turn the TV stations pull out as there is little public interest.

I don't think it's Maloney touting Harrison which is killing boxing at all. Harrison Kebede didn't prompt a lot of good will amongst the fans, and there are plenty of other issues which have a much more detrimental effect that the rantings of one individual. It's like saying Norman Stone is responsible for killing ratings in the states.

gotta say there are more scots boxers getting exposure on sky and to some extent in the papers than i can remember for a good few years.
