generally it isnt though.
wheras most people who play pool snooker and daryts would do so in pub with alcohol and those who smoke a fag.
most people who play football do not play with a beer in hand and a fag on.

Well, it's a close one, but I think Dave is right J, must be your day for being wrong.
From dictionary.com
"Physical activity that is governed by a set of rules or customs and often engaged in competitively."
I guess cueing the ball is 'physical activity' it doesn't say anything about it having to be strenuous activity in the definition.
In fact though, the two terms appear to be intechangable.
Here's the definition of game.
An activity providing entertainment or amusement; a pastime: party games; word games.
A competitive activity or sport in which players contend with each other according to a set of rules: the game of basketball; the game of gin rummy.
So I guess both of you are right, as Sports and games are really the same thing, the difference seems to be that a sport is organised by a governing body of some sort. By that definition Scrabble is a sport as it has a world championships.

Why are there very few fat snooker players but loads of lardy dartists?

Wasn't Mark Williams a boxer in a former life?
"I done a bit of boxing" I think was the quote, not sure what that means exactly.
Oh yeah, you gotta call snooker a sport because:
It involves a phyical skill
It has a competitive element.
That's the common element of all sports, which is why:
Poker &
WWF
should not be on Sky Sports. They is not sports.

They aren't allowed to drink any more whilst playing. Darts is a game primarily played in pubs by drunkards at amateur level, whilst many snooker halls don't even have an alchohol licence.

Cheeky Scouse betting chappie Derek McGovern implied at the weekend that it must be a piece of piss to get a 147 for a top player. Tongue in cheek but he did say get on the 2/1 available for a maximum during the tournament.
Another opportunity missed but for those who went with it, it's one of those nice ones...lay back and count the reddies with only a few days gone!

Was it Bill Werbenuik (spelling?) who had lager prescribed to him? He had ridiculously large amounts of pop during a match.
Snooker's a sport.
I don't smoke but I've played cricket with a pint in my hand on more than one occasion. I've played cricket naked with a pint for between deliveries and scored a fifty. My only fifty ever, in fact.

I have a feeling you might have been watching the ball a lot more closely than normal in those circumstances!

Yes, paying close attention to the difference between the pink ones and the red ones...."hang on, is that one red or pink, fornicate it, I'm going for a six, watch out beefy here I......
"GRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahh"
Read a great story in loaded once.
Local rugby team were preparing to face some visitors, who had a reputation for being really hard tackling dirty bastards, so they decided to give them a taste of their own medicine and really go at the bastards.
The captain gets them fired up and they go into the game like snarling animals, really giving them a working over. One of the players goes into a tackle like a block of concrete off a tower block, and mangles his man, but falls to the floor like stunned halibut.
The touchline medics come over to look at him, and they discover that the poor ashen faced pudendum has managed to dislocate his hip. She tells him that it's going to hurt like fuckery, but that she has to set the hip joint back in place then and there before it swells too badly. He agrees and prepares for the worst, after being given something to bite down on...
"Ready.......1.....2......."before she gets to 3 she shoves with all her might and there's an almighty crunch...
The guy goes as red as a beetroot and shrieks with pain, at first she assumes it's just the pain of the joint being forced back in, but his shouts and screams are so earth shattering, that his vocal cords shred and he passes out.
She pulls down the shorts to look at the area, and there, stuffed into the hip socket is one half of his ballbag, testicle included.
The poor pudendum has to have surgery on his vocal cords, and the testicle is so crushed by the time they get him to hospital and remove it that it's binned.....

I would argue that whilst Darts and Pool are a game, Snooker is a sport.
Might not be a physical sport, but it is a sport.
Anyway, Mark Williams seems to be finding some form at the right time.
