Bloody hell, he does look in good nick there considering there's still six weeks to go until fight time.

Overtraining a risk? Hatton peaked too soon?
I hope he's in premium condition for the fight, the Oliveira fight was the sharpest I've ever seen him, he need to replicate that form to even have a hope.

You gotta wonder haven't you.
The lack of Big Fights means his preparation for this fight is completely un-tested. completely new.
The
proper skeletor look he has the day before a fight is quite frankly frightening.

Well, perhaps we won't see that this time around. I think I read somewhere that he's already under 154, he should be within 10 lbs the last week of the fight, which is pretty healthy.

Thoes photos were taken on 7th April as well which is a few weeks back now. I'm amazed how he could go from the pictures we saw of him on the Showtime link up with Tszyu to this condition in just a matter of weeks. He must put himself through hell in the first few weeks of training.

"To put it into perspective, by May, I would expect that Ricky will be pushing in one leg session the equivalent of FIVE TONS. The man is amazing!"
That is nothing special... I used to do over 200 tons of leg press workout in one session.
I just calculated my routine, and it was 162 tons of thigh leg press, and about the same for calf press(same session, super sets).
Ricky Hatton sure is amazing.

Whats that 10reps on 7plates a side? Decent for his weight if he takes it deep. I used to do 14plates a side for 20reps at 190lbs (175fighting weight) though and my legs aren't huge.
If they meant for 1rep it would be 70plates a side which is impossible I think.

I can smell bullshit!
200 tons of leg presses in a session, are you joking?
That's the equivalent of doing 200 reps @ 1000kg / 400 reps @ 500kg / 800 reps @ 250kg.
Have you got your math correct, are you the strongest man the world has ever known or are you joking?

14 plates (Assuming you mean 20.5kg) on each side, 20 reps is about 14 tons.

You can't fornicating count, lad!
20.5 x 28 = 574
574 x 20 = 11.48 tons.

The sled was 160lbs... Each plate is 45lbs.
250lb-50rep x4 sets = 50000
340lb-42rep x4 sets = 57120
430lb-34rep x4 sets = 58480
520lb-26rep x4 sets = 54080
610lb-18rep x4 sets = 43920
700lb-12rep x4 sets = 33600
790lb-8rep x4 sets = 25280
Inbetween thigh sets, I would do calf press sets w/ the same weight.
It's alot of reps... I think my max press was about 1100-1200, which is good but not massive. As phenom says his max press is over 1400.

Don't forget the base machine weight.... Also, you're going by metric tons maybe? I mean US Tons, which is 2000lbs.
45lb x 28 = 1260 + the sled weight.

As asked earlier, anyone know who Hatton has as his sparring partners?
hopefully he's getting some top class ones in to sharpen up on

Which would make the 162 US tons 147 Metric tons, aprox.

Didn't he say on the BBC last week that he was getting in some top Europeans for sparring? Whatever that means.

Well when you add in the sled that equals 201,851KG (201.851 metric tons) = 222 US tons.
What sport do you/did you compete in? If you were doing full deep reps you're a phenomenal strength athlete. I honestly doubt that many (if any) of the World's Stongest Men competitors could finish that workout.
If you're telling the truth, fair play, that's seriously impressive.

So if you include the calf routine, since it was in the same session... That's an extra 136 metric tons (no 790lb calf sets)... Which would make a combined 283 metric tons, leg press + calf press.

Have you included the sled in the total weights? I added it on seperately when I did the math above.

I crossed my arms across my chest (hands under arm pits) to check my depth from time to time, legs to elbows... Not super deep, but good enough.
