Come on, what are you going to do about the Earl vs Bennett fight.

1) Order and Watch it via Setanta PPV.

2) Order and Watch it via the web.

3) Trade it via a video dealer.

4) Not ordering it.

5) Not interested.

6) Going to the fight live.

Well I have put my vote in - I will order it via Setanta. I personally think it is worth the extra few quid to have the security that there will be no problems.

I'll be there, but would have probably done both, watched it on the internet to see quality and also sky+ it to watch again and again. I'll probably still get the PPV on Setanta

Kev, have you had any tip offs on the coverage that Setanta will bring - its a little bit of a concern it is now OFF their schedule page!!!!!!

I think the original start time was 8:30 (or it could have been 9:30). The Fighnight site are saying their show starts at 7:45. Any ideas of what fights (if any) we will miss if we only go the Setanta route.

Big worry that it is off the schedule page though, although Fightnight are plugging the TV station.

As far as know, both fightnight.com and Setanta will show all of the fights live. I am seeing Frank Maloney tomorrow I will ask him

Tell him to sort out those guys at Setanta - honest its as if the fight doesn't exist on that website, and it was there as clear as a bell last week.

Where are you looking schedules go to May 8th, where I am looking and April 30th on another page

One thing with Setanta that might be interesting is that they are launching a Setanta Sports US channel. Its a little unclear whether it means Setanta is going to be broadcast in the states or whether a channell dedicated to US sports (hopefully boxing) will be coming here.

Forget that - the home page says exactly what the US channel is. It is a channell that will showcase European sport in the US.

Yes they do, however - the big list (8th may) USED to included Bennett vs Earl on the 12th. It used to be the last one they would put on the schedules.

I wont be paying for it. Food for thought, if Setanta make a success of this PPV how long before Sky are charging us for the weekly bills/friday night fights? This is similar standard to what they've been serving up recently.

If Sky do to that, then the events will be on it box office channels - meaning that the boxing can be on Saturday. Which I believe is one of the major reasons that promoters as saying the fights cannot happen.

And you'd be happy with paying for it on top of your Skysports subscription? No way josé!!

Well it would depend on the fight, and how they do it. I wouldn't pay to see this fridays bill for certain. Also, if (as is the norm) Sky repeated for nothing the next week then I wouldn't pay.

However, unless there are some changes on the TV front it might be the only way to get decent domestic scraps and decent domestic bills. I don't know when is the last time I have seen a bill (i.e. more than one fight) that I am intrigued with. The attendence to these Friday shows have been abysmal so I suppose the promoters are only right to spread their talent thinly along these Friday slots.

If Boxing was guarenteed to be cancelled from the normal Sky Sports then I would probably drop it and just get these PPV's.

However, lets be realistic I don't think less the 100 people on a boxing forum are going to make a huge difference as to whether Sky will go PPV. If the viewing figures for the free boxing would have been decent it would be Sky box office, not Setanta, showing this event. If the viewing figures were good - there would still be a Saturday fight night.

The Boxing used to have good figures, it used to rank only below Football and the Wrestling on the Sky Sports ratings. However, these figures have been dropping and dropping and it was behind alot of other sports BEFORE the Friday shift.

Allegedly should be concentrating on these big bills, like the MEN in June. I'd happily pay for a PPV with 5 or 6 decent fights on it.

The promoters created this mess or one in particular with the one sided matches/bills he has put together over the last few years.

I think I might get the web cast just to see what it's like in terms of quality. It could well be the way forward, you never know. And I'll try anything once

I agree its a little steep for a first show, I think Setanta should do a freeview show just so we can find out a little a bit about the presentation.

I don't think it is is over dear, just I don't know what I paying for presentation wise.

i will be buying the ppv and hope the maloneys do well not so much for frank more so for little brother eugene, a real character and was go value when fighting i believe he enjoyed being in the ring knew his lever just a bit about a journeyman did any one else see him box
