Sebastian Fundora promoter says 'Towering Inferno' will face Ermal Hadribeaj in fall
Sebastian Fundora’s long-time promoter, Sampson Lewkowicz, says the WBC junior-middleweight champion’s next fight will be against his No. 1 mandatory contender, Ermal Hadribeaj, and any potential unification fight against Jaron “Boots” Ennis would happen in 2027 at the soonest, if it did.
“Sebastian Fundora will comply with the WBC and face his No. 1 mandatory next,” said Lewkowicz. “A fight with Ennis could happen, but some time next year.”
Lewkowicz says Coachella, California’s Fundora, 24-1-1 (16 KOs) will face Miami via Albania’s Hadribeaj, 23-0-1 (8 KOs), in the fall of this year.
Hadribeaj was last seen winning a 12-round final mandatory elimination bout, and the WBC Silver junior middleweight title, with a unanimous decision over France’s Bakary Samake, live on ProBoxTV in May.
Fundora’s last appearance was a surprisingly comfortable sixth-round stoppage of former unified welterweight world champion Keith Thurman in March.
